About ORUN

A city in the middle of the desert has just been taken over by a swarm of monsters. Orun must save it by relighting the guardian flame that protected the now ruined city. Even though he is just a scout he will make his way through the enemies defeating all kinds of golems and bosses until reaching the flame tower after all his kin has fallen.

Orun is a 3D rogue-like, hack and slash adventure video game with an isometric point of view in 3rd person in which the player will have to pass through different rooms full of enemies, find the way to open paths to reach the city tower to accomplish the mission of rekindling the Hogar Flame to save what remains of the city after the invasion of the foes. This game was developed as a student project at DigiPen Institute of Technology and was created for educational purposes only. Quite nice game! I did enjoy the environment and the music a lot. In terms of combat the controls feeled quite smooth with nice transitions and feedback. Story was pretty interesting but I would have love to know more about it. The game was quite short but enough to disconnect for a bit. Nice work in general keep like that!

Pretty cool short game (about 15-30 min) about coming back to your city to save it from monsters. The art style is stilized and has a lot of charm, and the combat is fluid and easy to grasp. Very fun for a student project, the team shows promise. Keep up the good work and many great games will come.

Buggy and unplayable. My attacks knocked a guy back so far that he glitched through the terrain, and apparently I needed to kill him to progress. I did the whirlwind attack to see if I could reach the guy (impossible since he was half a screen away, but might as well try). My guy ended up glitching, too, and got stuck in an attack pose while none of the buttons on my controller did anything. Aside from that, combat was pretty crappy due to bad enemy AI and camera angles. At one point, my character was completely off screen behind terrain and stuck on a thorn bush or something while an enemy attacked me. That kind of stuff's no fun at all.

For a 20 minutes student game its a really fun experience! The world looks pretty polished and the gameplay feels quite interesting. Asides the game changing language when you enter a new room its a great project!
