Relic Digger

I love these indie digging games, this is the third I've played in the past month or so. This one took me 4 hours to get to the bottom and find the !!!Ultimate Treasure!!!. + The drill and shovel can both Autodig by holding the mouse button, no more carpel tunnel syndrome clicking 10,000 times for hours! + The way to get to the treasure at the very end of the game is creative. - I never used the dynamite once, I tried to blow up some rocks but it never worked. - The "Treasure Relic" at the end is graphically underwhelming. - There are not that many different gems to collect, just rocks, coal, gold and diamonds. The journey is in the adventure, not the destination! I had fun but it could have had a bit more artistic flair. Overall: 6 / 10

Relic Digger is dead shovelware. The biggest issue is that your progress is not saved. The main menu even misleads you with a Load button. But there is no save, and exiting the game doesn't make Load functional. + Digging; you see it on the store page; simple enough * You dig ground, find rocks, and sell them for money, which you use for upgrades and refills of tool energy and health * So far, I found stone, coal, and gold - Too slow progress - Too narrow gains to progress through upgrades - Never received updates; Released in June 2025, not a single update since then - No settings, no key rebindings - Bad UI/UX; too small dialog close icons, no keyboard UI interactability like ESC - Shoveling stamina depletion is very annoying, and exceeding it dealing health damage makes practically no sense - Easy to get stuck/pratically softlock - Limited depleted resources require continuous refilling to be bought - Narrow space and capabilities make the gameplay loop and game and upgrade progression a soulless grind Seems like the bare minimum was shoveled (haha, get it? but actually, deserves the label 'shovelware' as in throwing out inferior products with no regard) out where it can look …

No options or settings whatsoever. Can't even press escape to close the buy or sell windows. Annoying breath sounds when you start to run low on stamina. Dying loses ALL progress. No way to port back to the top if you get stuck underground.
