Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition
An underrated and respectable sequel to one of the greatest adventure/platformer games ever made
Tomba! 2: The Evil Swine Return Special Edition, like its predecessor, is an updated port and sequel to the cult classic Tomba!, developed by the original studio Whoopee Camp and Limited Run Games. While this isn't a remaster or a remake, there are quality of life improvements that build on the original experience. Positives + The rewind function enables you to select previous frames of gameplay, of which there is a limit, which can be very helpful if you find yourself making a bad mistake, or falling to an unintended death. It's basically a get out of jail free card, but it's also very handy for a couple of the frustrating minigames, such as the two trolley events (the hardest part of the entire game in my opinion) and the ten levels (yes, ten) of the Kujara washing. + You are now able to save anywhere (apart from during cutscenes) instead of only at the designated signposts across the game's world. This even works in boss fights if you so choose. These are effectively save states that are commonly found in emulators, which can make the game feel a lot easier…

Doing Turbo Trolley made a vein explode in my brain, and since then I've been able to levitate things with my mind i think

No corporate bs, just wholesome nostalgia. Recommended!

Nostalgia to the MAX! This game is super fun and full of puzzles. You can't stop playing once you start.

One of my best ever Childhood Game!

This game is my childhood and Limited Run Games has made me so happy in bringing this game back. Honestly, I love the QoL changes with the save states but, it was never an issue saving the game. I love this vast world with all the unique characters and all the quests you can do and even the small mini-games that you can play. I love the style change from the first game and still love the soundtrack (NA is better than JP in my opinion). Game plays great, sounds great, and has all the same wacky charm that I remember. I love all the different power-ups and the various uses for the weapons/tools. the final section still gives me the creeps and as does the forest. I do wish there was more story to tie in the first game to the second but it's still a great game that I think deserved to be a trilogy.
