About Guacamelee! 2
Brawling has never been more beautiful! The long-awaited sequel to the smash hit action-platformer is here: Guacamelee! 2 brings luchador Juan Aguacate out of retirement for a stunning new Metroidvania-style adventure.
Explore a huge, hand-crafted world inspired by Mexican culture and folklore, filled with sassy new villains and weirdos (and a few old friends!). Learn a deep repertoire of bone-crunching moves to fend off the skeletal hordes and overcome a multitude of platforming challenges.
...and who said anything about a Chicken Illuminati? Certainly not us!

Key Features:
- New moves like Eagle Boost, Pollo Shot and more add to Juan’s arsenal of combat and platforming abilities.
- New powers for Juan’s chicken form! Ridiculous chicken-based platforming, combat and exploration. More chicken than you’ll be able to handle (probably).
- An epic adventure through the worlds of the living and the dead, across rifts in time and space -- more gorgeous than ever thanks to a fancy new rendering engine.
- Bigger maps, twice as many enemy types as the first game, and a roster of eccentric new bosses.
- Discover “trainers” from around the world, defeat their challenges, and upgrade your abilities.
- Soundtrack featuring new music from the composers of the original Guacamelee! OST, plus tracks from special guests Mariachi Entertainment System!
- Drop-in / drop-out 4-player local co-op through the entire story.

A very innovative platformer/metroidvania, story is fun, loveable characters and the writing is genuinely funny at times! Love it!1 found this helpful
Like the first but better in almost every way. Only small gripe is the platforming challenges don't have a lot of leeway, so even if you KNOW what to do, it's often quite hard to actually do it. But it's certainly not as challenging as some other notorious MV platforming sections (ie Silksong, MIO, etc).

Overall, great metroidvania game, but you should play the first one first. As with all metroidvanias, you start out pretty weak, but gain tons of new abilities and power. Even with that, your character only has melee attacks, but a good variety of them and with great mobility. Towards the end, the challenge areas, where you need to combine use of all your different abilities at once, are really tough, but satisfying (if) you finally beat them. If you want to 100% things, you'll need to travel all around the world collecting stuff you've missed, and that seemed like too much of a chore, so I beat the last boss, watched the end credits, and hung it up.
Guacamelee! 2 — 8.7/10 Review I highly recommend this game! The story is absolutely legendary, especially with the introduction of multiple timelines. Discovering that in the timeline you visit, you were actually killed by Calaca, and that Salvador is the one who kills Calaca because the mask took control of him, was an incredible plot twist. The game has zero repetition. The chicken form's abilities and the special key challenges (collecting the chicken key pieces) are amazing. The chicken storyline itself is brilliant. The normal ending is quite emotional—seeing him return after so many years, missing his kids growing up right before his eyes, is truly heartbreaking. However, the secret ending (the Good Ending) fixes everything; instead of him spending ages searching for his timeline, he returns immediately. I actually played this game back in 2019 (I forgot on which platform), and I remember enjoying it so much. That's why I wanted to replay it now, unlock everything (100%), and fully understand the story. Pros World Design: Even though there are fewer areas compared to the first game, each area is massive. New Challenges: The newly introduced challenges are legendary. Mas…
