MAGEYE is a weird game for me to review. On the one hand, it is clearly a personal and at times powerful work of art, ready and willing to be upsetting and inaccessible in order to exist. On the other, it is a poorly-mixed audio nightmare with a far-too-frustrating boss battle (for me) that has a mostly-nonsensical story that doesn't go anywhere and pulls things out of nowhere as it approaches what it calls a climax. In short, I can't recommend you play this game, but I do think it's worth your time. Buy it and play it, then if it gets too much, go watch someone else finish it. The audio wants to be harsh and surprising, but the audio controls you're given make even the lowest setting (short of muting) on low system settings still make the loudest noises grate and ring your ears while the quietest noises fade into nothing. I played through the game turning the audio on for gameplay and off for cutscenes/text. I do appreciate this attempt to create a hostile, punk soundscape, but all of that literally falls on deaf ears if I must mute the game just to play it for more than a few minutes at a time. The boss battle combines some of the worst gameplay concerns: needing to build up h…

This game is genuinely peak. Volume warning though, I might be deaf after a few moments though. Still worth it

Man this is a wild one. DO NOT get drunk before playing this. Gameplay is nice, can be challenging (♥♥♥♥ crows) but the story is horrifying, and genuinely disturbing, but I couldn't stop going...much like the main character. One of the few games where the discretion warning actually matters. Definitely worth 8 bucks.

This game is definitely a weird one, but I enjoyed the horrific tasks this mother magpie did. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/0BZwfW1HaGE

I love everyhting about this game, except one thing - the audio. I understand it's a horror game. I understand loud noise equal scary. but when the loud noises are repeatedly played over the course of a minute (in story segments etc) its... just annoying. I had to turn my headset volume to ONE to play this game.
