Grand Cru: The Wine Maker

I liked the idea of this game but it gets to a point where if you buy a lot of land, you then have to do a lot of manual wine making and bottling which gets very tedious moving sliders etc. Also, it gets to a point where you don't have to bargain with the vendors as your bottles get sold off at the end of the season anyway if you run out of room. This however comes at a cheaper rate but it saves a lot of time haggling. Nice artwork and idea but the tedious nature broke me.

Nice nichegame with some depth and immersion as to the storyline being told with emotion and interest in the wine making history. Hoping that they continue to develop and expand the base game of making wine, and all the nuances that go into making great wine. There are som bugs, but truth be told, they are not gamebreaking. So expanding this from bordeuax area, and making wine in other regions once the main storyline is finished, or skipping that in a dlc could be a big gamechanger for this as a wine maker game. It has the engine to go further if they expand the list of grapes and styles.

This game is too easy. you never should of added the mechanic that tells you what level of each thing you need, it should be a trial and error thing and you should have a notebook of every brew so you know the settings you did

Nothing to do end game, game is boring after 5 hours. Needs more content for the price. The game has so much potential.

Short Answer: A diamond in the rough. If you enjoy business simulations, It is an easy Buy. It does not matter if you are interested in wine or not, it will grow on you and has a surprising amount of depth if you progress. Long Answer: I am very very good at business simulation. I went broke my first 3 games and managing your AP early on is about priority. It is suppose to be tough starting out and it is. You start out taking over your fathers winery and debt. The thing that Surprised me about this game was the actual depth, you really need to pay attention to what you are doing. The game really begins once you pay off your fathers debt and start expanding, when you first load up you think that is the point, it isn't, that is really just the full tutorial getting you ready to compete and expand. The game has an amazingly detailed yet on point encyclopedia to help you learn important things. It gives you the ability to produce different wines and test yourself in becoming a whine mogul. Ok, so I had whislisted this game a while ago and bought it yesterday. Main things I LOVE about it: - The depth it has on many wine aspects. Terroir, weather, soil, fermentation, etc. It has an amazing base to move forward. - Easy design and playability. - Time eater. I can't get enough! Cons: - The AI... I know the DEV said he will fix it later, but so far is a bit off-putting, - It still lacks. A lot. Sparkling Wine, Xerez, Port, Madeira, Rosé, Late Harvest... I could go on. It's an amazing base for so much more! I hope this continues to get developed in the future. - More regions. So far it has Bordeaux only. There are so many more to be added to this game! - The game feels like an app rather than a true game. I don't have Steam overlay and if I right click it seems I'm on a browser. There is more to be said, but honestly I am enjoying the game. Yes it is missing lots of content and it has true potential. I just ask the dev to keep pushing. This game could be an ODE to wine.
