Haven Park

This was such a fun game, on many levels! I enjoyed the aesthetics of it- the park, visitors, and quests were all super cute and fun. The art is great. The feels are there, though I didn't totally understand the urgency, and figured that Grandma must be making her final migration, if you know what I mean, and had the wherewithall and foresight to handle her estate this way? Well, anyway, being a little birb was amazing fun. What works: + A fun park with clear goals: set up camps, speak to campers, finish quests + This park was really fun to explore and had a lot to see + items are readily found, and respawn + at night the drops seems so scary, really fun without lanterns, still fun with them + a good mixture of story-driven tasks and if-you-want-to + My kid played this through the family library and loved it too Improvements: -I played the entire game with my mouse and keyboard (for good or ill LOL) until the Heart of the Mountain Quest in the mines- then I had to break out the controller. I think the jumping mechanic is tough to time, or maybe I am just not ♥♥♥♥ at jumping challenges in games (100% true LOL). - Some people report bugs with the achieveme…

A cozy little adventure game in which you explore an island, it's secrets and set up camping sites. It takes 4-5h to complete it with all the achievements done. Easy to get into and easy to pick it up again.

For $10 CAD this is a pretty good game! Surprisingly puzzling at points, and reminds me of one of my favourite games, A Short Hike. I'd probably recommend waiting for a sale or a bundle, since there's only about 5-6 hours of gameplay if you're a completionist like me, but overall I'd say it's worth it. More cozy games need to be aware of this title for sure.

Wanna Come and Become Another Legendary Pew Master? 🏆🐤 Yeah! I finally unlocked the achievement “The Pew Master” simply by making that super lovely “Pew” sound a certain number of times. 😂 According to the Cambridge Dictionary, “pew” usually refers to “a long wooden seat with a high back, on which a row of people sit in a church.” Interestingly, this little game also lets our adorable Flick build and provide cozy benches for campers in the park. So, are the developers secretly Jesus followers who deeply love cute animals? Well... I don’t know, but I’d like to believe there is some warm-hearted spirit behind this charming little haven. :) One little animal camper even told me, while I was playing as Flick, the tiny yellow park manager: “Best holidays ever.” And honestly, that made my day. Haha! XD No more spoilers for this adorable park adventure. Although the journey is simple and peaceful, it carries a special kind of warmth that is easy to appreciate. Now, back to my little park exploration. Let’s go! 🌲
