[h1] 🌊 A Beautiful, Atmospheric Journey [/h1] [b] Minute of Islands [b] is one of those games that, rather than trying to entertain you with complex gameplay, wants to pull you into its world. What caught my attention from the very beginning was the [b] atmosphere and art style [/b] . The world is beautiful, but at the same time it has this strange feeling of loneliness and sadness. The environments and music work really well with the story and make you feel like you're walking through a world that is slowly falling apart. 🥀 The [b] story [/b] is definitely one of the strongest parts of the game. The narrative is slow-paced, and you shouldn't expect something huge to happen every few minutes, but as you progress, you gradually learn more about the world and what happened to it. If you enjoy **atmospheric and story-driven games**, you'll probably appreciate this part. 📖 However, the [b] gameplay could have been better [/b]. A lot of the game revolves around exploration, simple puzzles, and completing different tasks around the environment. After a while, some of it can start to feel a little repetitive. [b] There is no replayability in this game. [/b] You can’t select individual chapters, so after finishing the game, so the only way to revisit previous locations is too start game from beginning. It’s quite shameful, because this game has some lovely scenery, and this game is discouraging you from visiting back to those beautiful locations. Also, if you want to collect all the memories (the only collectibles in the game, and necessary for getting the platinum), you need to do a hard re-start, which is an absolute waste of time. They don’t unlock anything, and movement can be painfully slow, so looking for them is very time-consuming. There is, of course, option of watching a walkthrough on YT to find them without too much trouble, but that would mean wasting your time heaving exactly same playthrough like on video you are watching.

[h1]2/5 stars[/h1] [b]One star for the art, one for the story.[/b] [u]Spoilers ahead[/u] [h2]The good[/h2] The art style is fantastic, and the story is genuinely good. I see [i]Minute of Islands[/i] as a story about someone with self-destructive tendencies finding redemption through the support of others. And by self-destructive, I mean self-destruction, not self-harm or suicide. I really like how Mo’s inner world is portrayed. It’s a really interesting way of telling the story. [h2]The bad[/h2] 1. The level design is awful. The first chapter is by far the hardest, while every chapter afterwards gets easier. By the end, you basically just press F and let go. I can see what they were going for — showing Mo lowering her defences — but it makes the game quite off-putting. 2. The pacing is poor. The story moves too slowly, and every story sequence feels like the game briefly freezes. It really breaks the flow. 3. The controls are awkward. Especially going downstairs. You constantly have to get the angle right. Just weird. 4. The ending feels too rushed. There’s no real transition between Mo jumping into the sea and finally letting go. The change happens so suddenly that it just feels b…

First of all, when im playing this game, i might think it will have a happy ending cs she will make 4 giants wake up to enegizing the island and could save the whole island.
