✦ AI summary

Explore a barren alien planet as an astronaut unraveling the mystery of an abandoned Russian settlement and a mysterious woman who may be your salvation or doom. Guided by atmospheric environments and classic sci-fi storytelling, solve puzzles and survive deadly threats while piecing together whether your mission is real or an elaborate Cold War hoax.

PREMIER EDITION

While seeking life on a distant planet, an astronaut discovers an abandoned Russian town. He suspects his mission is a hoax until a mysterious young woman saves him from a strange and deadly phenomenon... Lifeless Planet is a third-person action-adventure that features an old-school sci-fi story and spectacular environments in the spirit of classic action-adventures.

After a hard landing on the planet, the astronaut discovers the planet that was reported to be rich with life is instead a barren wasteland. When he goes searching for his crew, he makes a more startling discovery: evidence that humans have already been to this planet years ago! When he comes upon a deserted Soviet-era Russian town, he struggles to make sense of his mission. Did his light-speed travel to the planet send him back in time? Or is this all some strange Cold War hoax?
Along the way, the astronaut meets a Russian woman, Aelita, who is somehow able to survive the hostile atmosphere of the planet. Through an unusual natural phenomenon, her skin causes the soil to glow green under her feet. The player must use these glowing tracks as a guide across the planet past treacherous and deadly threats. Is she leading him to safety... or an untimely death? Lifeless Planet was inspired by Cold War era science fiction stories, posing questions about humankind's desire for space travel. What if you journeyed across the galaxy to another planet, only to find humans had already been there? What kind of person would sign up for a one-way mission, leaving behind planet Earth and everyone they've ever known and love... to go in search of an Earth-like planet? Equipped with a limited-use jet-pack and a mobile robotic arm, the player must use wits and skill to solve puzzles, unravel the mystery, and survive the Lifeless Planet!

Key Features:

 • Explore 20 unique and atmospheric environments on a vast and treacherous planet.
 • Follow a mysterious young woman as she guides you past dangerous terrain and deadly life-forms.
 • Investigate the startling discovery of an abandoned Russian town.
 • Experience an exciting and intriguing story through rich graphics and cinematic cut-scenes.

The gameplay is pretty lifeless, but the planet itself has a strange pull. It's a game about walking a lot, doing some light platforming, and finding yourself staring at the scenery longer than expected.
Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition

Positives:
+ Nice idea + The storytelling and deeper meaning + Mysterious and atmospheric + Nice retro looking graphics + Good sounds + Fantastic music + The free view in and out zoom (scroll wheel) + Some nice places to explore + Achievements + Cool platforming and puzzles + Good length (about 5 hours)
Negatives:
- A few parts have low resolution textures - A lot of the same looking lanscapes - Unpolished controls makes platforming a bit frustrating at parts (its not keyboard friendly) - Almost no options or adjustments are available in the menu - Some parts are not as entertaining as the rest - You can get stuck here and there - A few bugs and glitches - A bit higher run speed would be preferable - The ending is not as good as the rest (but still okay)
Conclusion:
This was a really interesting, atmospheric and retro looking space adventure. There is more beneath the surface than at first glance. Anyone who is interested in space, sci fi, platforming, walking simulators or indie games should play this. Its a hidden gem, though a bit unpolished and rough in some areas, but its nothing serious. And man d…

Pretty cool. Quite fond of the "old-school graphics" and the overall scenery. The gameplay mechanics are... Simple? And tbh, the Geyser jump mechanic is complicated to get a grasp on (or I'm just bad at timing my jumps, lmao). Btw, even for a 2014 game, the framerate decreases noticeably in some places, but this does not make the game unplayable. ...In all my wisdom, I thought my toaster could flawlessly withstand the "Fantastic" graphics config.

This game is great, an adventure that allows you a lot of freedom to roam. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking to enjoy a journey through an alien landscape that isn't complicated but still challenging.

The game's neat, a little spoopy, and atmospheric until you go to jump over something and it kills you. It loads you back and it kills you again. You jump just a little earlier and you're good, until you walk down some stairs and you slip on a banana peel and die.

Fun exploration, music, and visuals, but the voice acting kills immersion for me. Should've been a silent game IMO. Wait for a sale or get it in a bundle.
