Lifeless Planet Premier Edition

There is absolutely zero reason to play this game in TYOOL 2026. If I wasn't so susceptible to the sunk cost fallacy I would have bailed on this a few hours in. * despite frequently showing disks indicating the game is being saved, it only actually saves at the beginning of each area, Misleading, and caused me to replay a couple of areas more than once. * if you push a movable puzzle piece into a bad spot, tough luck. Going back to the previous checkpoint won't reset the pieces, you have to exit the game altogether. Especially annoying in conjunction with the first point. * the puzzles are completely uninteresting, and yet somehow annoyingly vague, especially later in the game. * Long stretches of land that you have to traverse with next to nothing going for it, just drab browns and dull greens. Very XBox 360-ish color palette all around. I love the Death Stranding games, but this is tedious. * Lousy physics. You intermittently get a power up for your spacesuit's thrusters for set pieces, but once you're moving in one direction you're not changing it until you land. This game is GREAT !!! Not just good... It's phenomenal. But not everybody can appreciate it. It really depends on whether you prioritize atmosphere in your gaming experience, or at least if atmosphere can be enough to let you enjoy otherwise not-so exciting gameplay.

A lot of people have already written reviews pointing out what they didn't like about the game, so I'd like to focus on something I don't see discussed too much: the tags. The game is sold to you as an "atmospheric" "puzzle platformer" with a focus on "exploration". The "puzzle" tag is a honest mistake at best and a bald-faced lie at worst. There are no simply no puzzles, unless you count pushing buttons in a random order without any guidance or hints from the game until it eventually works out as a "puzzles". I think that throughout the five to six hours of gameplay there was maybe one interaction worth calling a puzzle and a child could have solved it in less than two minutes. I don't mean that puzzles in games should always be difficult or challenging, but you have to involve some kind of logic or deduction skills to justify that label. The exploration is a joke, too. Most of the time, if you take the time to drag your character off the beaten path at the snail-like pace at which he moves, you just end up facing a dead end and having to retrace your steps. i mean, if you want to see how many ways touching a rock wrong can kill you, this game is for you! Im sure this game was awesome when it came out, but the mere fact that I HAVE to maneuver a rock, and then step on said rock, but can in no way, shape or form TOUCH the side of the rock when doing so without being insta-killed, is ragebait. I touched the side of a canyon wrong "death from falldamage". Will probably not finish.

A fun little walking/platformer game that's very chill. It's one of those games that's very relaxing to play on the weekend, when it's time to sit down and relax to enjoy some games. Some of the game's mechanic is outdated and you can feel it. Basic puzzels nothing special sadly, story is ok but you have to read most of it to get the full picture. Overall game is fun and relaxing sometimes a bit tedious, but it is an older game so that's expected. "I'm Commander Shepard and I recommend this game... on a sale"
