[b]Showgunners delivers a stylish, brutal tactical strategy experience that wears its Running Man inspiration proudly. The game drops you into a dystopian reality-TV death match where contestants fight their way through deadly arenas for the entertainment of a bloodthirsty audience. The setting is easily one of the game's biggest strengths, with its flashy presentation, over-the-top violence, and constant sense of spectacle making every mission feel like part of a twisted televised event. Combat takes a straightforward XCOM-ish approach that is easy to understand but still satisfying. Positioning, cover, flanking, abilities, and carefully choosing targets provide enough tactical depth without becoming overly complicated. Unfortunately, the character progression doesn't quite match the strength of the setting. The talent system feels fairly underwhelming, offering limited opportunities to meaningfully specialize or develop your team. With such a small squad size, there is also less room for experimentation. The biggest disappointment is the lack of a proper sandbox or endless mode. Most fun I ever had with an xcom-like after xcom itself

Fantastic if you love turn based games!

If they made a Running Man XCOM game, it would be this. Gourmet ♥♥♥♥, play it.

A great game. XCOM style combat. No base building. Set characters but they are all interesting. All characters have skill progression. Good story - not super deep, but enough to tie everything together. Took me 18 hours to beat, and honestly one of the best games I have played this year (and I play a lot of games).

Hidden gem of a game; 100% recommend. Lots of fun across the board (turn-based tactics/combat, puzzles, look and feel, etc.). If you search around or wait for a sale, you can pick this up fairly cheap. If unsure, check out ChristorpherOdd (channel name) play through on youtube.
