Shishimai Rinka was a high schooler who ran a small café named Lion House in place of her grandmother. She lived her life much like any other person her age, but one day, she was caught up in an explosion while returning home on the train alongside her friend, Hitsuji Naomi. In an attempt to save her friend's life, she shields her on instinct the moment the explosion goes off, losing her life in the process. However, before she knew it, she was back at Lion House, happily chatting with her friends as if nothing had happened in the first place.

"Good evening, my lovely little slaves to fate."

A few days later, she found herself in a strange world. Here she met Parca, an odd girl claiming to be a goddess. It turns out that she had somehow become a participant in Divine Selection, a ritual carried out over twelve weeks by twelve people, which allowed them to compete in order to undo their deaths. Yet, what shocked Rinka most of all, was the presence of her friend Mishima Miharu amongst the twelve.

In order to get through Divine Selection, one must eliminate others by gathering information regarding their name, cause of death and regret in the real world, then "electing" them.

This turn of events would lead to her learning about the truth behind her death, as well as her own personal regrets. She would also come to face the reality that Miharu was willing to throw her life away for her sake, as well as the extents to which the other participants would go to for the sake of living through to the end.

Far more experiences than she ever could have imagined awaited her now, but where will her resolve lead her once all is said and done...?

This game is very racist. There are three characters with brown skin. Two of them are extremely muscular and hyperviolent, the third is an apparent suicide bomber. The first two are singled out by the narrative as being uniquely scary and violent, plus main character's internal narration constantly refers to being scared of them 'for some reason'. I stopped playing the moment the Indian man broke into an ICU to hold a bunch of babies hostage. If it weren't for the fact that I played for longer than 2 hours and am thus not eligible for it, I'd have requested a refund even though I bought this on sale.

Very strange. Not Dr. Strange level of strange. It's just strange. I do like Fatal Twelve. However, if there's anything that I will say, this is less about yuri and more about the initial aspect of the mystery and the story. The main character is strange. The heroine is also strange. I don't know what to describe about Fatal Twelve. The gimmick is pretty straightforward, yet it's kind of complicated to talk about because this leads to magical lands ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The story is "everyone for themselves", yet the story makes you feel the weight and guilt of every single person even if their writing is like super short. There's so many things that I feel strange about this visual novel, that I think it feels both disconnected and connected at the same time. I read halfway through and forgot briefly that this was about yuri. Not because the heroine was acting very possessive regarding to her-future-girlfriend, but because the game is focusing on the event that's unfolding before the protagonist and her friends that's so distracting that you only feel the effect of what this visual novel was actually advertising back in the PV close to the end. It's really funny because I say all of this to p…

Artstyle and voices are great. I find the whole concept/idea of the story very interesting and it has a lot potential. However, I feel like they kinda messed it up a bit of how the rules work and how people would act in such a situation. Still, it was a good read, and I found myself cheering for the romance until the end. But I have to stress that this is the type of game where meaningful choices would have been nice to have, because the main character basically does nothing for the majority of the game, and somehow gets trhough everything with luck and kindness, it's a bit silly.

A very good Visual Novel themed around fate and death. The CGs are nice, the story is good even if there are times where I thought some things didn't really make sense, but it's minor stuff and the ride is really pleasant. The characters are good and interesting. It all got me on the edge of my seat at times, wanting to see how it would all pan out and I knew I'd have to try and get all the endings. Also, it features a wlw relationship. Recommended.

An impactful story. The suspense get so heavy sometimes I can feel my blood pressure raising. At some points I was dying to know what happen next I flew through the texts, leaving no time for the voiced dialouges. (My sincerest apologies to the voice actors!)
