Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony

♥♥♥♥ this ending, waste of my time and money

This is a hard one to review because I have a sense of stockholm syndrome with the franchise and will inevitably eat up whatever slop they give me, but now that I've finally finished this game after having it in my library for 6 years and obsessing over the first two, the ending is so much worse than other people have been letting on. You can tell they really thought they were adding an interesting twist to the established franchise, but it just feels like cheap shock value with no actual consideration for how this game fits into the existing lore or any emotional impact this game or any of the previous have had on the player. this review is not spoiler-free, but I will try to keep it vague. Do i recommend this game? Yes and No. "Yes" to long-time fans because of the sheer obligation. There are parts of this that i really like, characters I really resonate with, and i think the UI is phenomenal. It's not all bad. But i will have to say "no" to anyone looking to get into Danganronpa or anyone who really cares about the lore, because this game will let you down. The ending for the game is actually abysmal. It's so, SO bad. But I will say chapters 1-5 are peak Danganronpa which just makes the ending suck more.
