Why are these minimalist-styled simple-concept always so darned clever the more you play, and so darned hard? Cos that's just the way you like it, chum! This is a great example of simple seeming shooter where the trick is not just to add moar guns but to more importantly add more upgrades and infrastructure for your guns. You must utilise your limited space to make sure your guns don't overlap, are effective but also get enough power-ups behind them to keep up with the ever increasing bugs you have to destroy. Oh, yeah, the other trick is not to get cocky and think you completed a level only to find there's a boss fight to get to but too many bugs to get there without your ship being reduced to a useless pop-gun when you do. Very simple, very clever, very playable, very fun, very good game.

Move around the stage, shoots bugs and collect the bits they drop to upgrade your ship and take down three different bosses. Movement and gunplay feels tight, the enemy designs range from simple to challenging, and there's a satisfaction similar to bullet-heaven games when everything ramps up. It's a fairly short game, but worth it if you're looking for an arcade-style game that can make you feel powerful.

Fun, very short game. Really neat concept, but it needs a bit more to really be amazing. Still, very neat and lots of fun for $3.
