12 Hours to Die

This game isn't anything special or life changing, its about on the level of quality you would expect from a Danganronpa clone, but if youre looking to scratch that death game itch while you wait for 2x2, you can do a whole lot worse. About 6-10 hours of content and its free. This is a "why the hell not if you have nothing else to do" kind of recommendation though.

It does have Steam achievements, but that's not reflected as a store tag/feature, so it's easy to miss that there's anything to unlock beyond the story. Beyond that, players have raised concerns about the lack of clear autosave — with a 12-hour "one sitting" murder-mystery framing, not knowing whether progress is saved along the way is a real barrier for anyone who can't commit to finishing it in one go. On top of that, the community-made achievement guide notes it relies on debug/skip methods to unlock everything quickly, which suggests the achievements aren't well-tied to actually playing through the mystery as intended — worth tightening up both the save system and how achievements are earned and surfaced.

Absolutely fantasic project! Loved the characters and found my self so involved.

For all who care about trigger warnings, there IS a lot of strong and heavy themes dealt with, but overall in a hopeful and overcoming adversity through love and friendship. All blood is pink, making it less triggering for me personally. I really enjoyed this game though did need a lil help from the walkthrough to get past some puzzles my brain is too tired for (old age - 34 ;D), thank you to to the person that wrote the guide. If you're going for achievements, use the guide but don't read ahead on the actions unless you're stuck, that's how I played and I had a deep and enjoyable experience with themes I face daily to come across from a whole other angle. Thank you to the devs for making this inspiring and not as dark as it first appears.

I could forgive a Danganrompa rip-off if it was good, but there's very, very, [i]very[/i] little value to this. Bad writing, bad art, storytelling isn't much good either, and the ending isn't interesting in the slightest.
