About 1711 Ireland: A Witch's Fate

1711 Ireland: A Witch’s Fate is a choice-driven exploration game set after the Islandmagee witch trials, the last recorded witch trial in Ireland. One year after the accusations that condemned eight women, you arrive in Islandmagee to uncover what really happened. Explore real historical locations, gather evidence, and speak to those who lived through the fear, superstition, and hysteria that gripped the community.Every conversation and discovery shapes what you come to believe. Will you expose a tragedy born of prejudice, or confirm the whispers of witchcraft that still haunt the coast? Through letters, testimonies, and unsettling encounters, A Witch’s Fate lets you piece together the truth or something darker in a world where belief can be as dangerous as any spell.

[strike] The tutorial asks the player to pick up three objects.[/strike] [strike] You can only pick up two. [/strike] [strike] You can't even get past the tutorial. This is Superman 64 level of game play.[/strike] [strike] I really wanted to play this game. I really wanted to enjoy it. But, unless they bring out a patch or some form of guide, the game is banjaxed.[/strike] I had downvoted this game, but they fixed the bugs when alerted within a few hours. Plays well and is educational; horror is hinted at. My granddad worked on the Gobbins (on Islemagee) in the 50s while on an outdoor relief project. A lot of ghost stories from up there, and this [i] feels [/i] like the stories he told. Gameplay is a visual novel/walking sim. However, it is a very well-put-together one.

It's a walking sim, and takes about an hour to play (no save system, so do set aside at least an hour). I have a few gripes with this game but overall it is worth every penny for being a unique slice of Ulster history with some great atmosphere and environments. If you don't care about the historical aspect and are just eyeing this up as a "spooky witch game" your mileage may vary.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the story, really felt like I was walking around a proper Irish village at times. Had some minor bugs with dialogue but overall very good, short story game

Doesn't work. Unfortunately an item you need to pick up in the first 5 minutes can't be picked up, locking progress.
