About 1971 PROJECT HELIOS
1971 Project Helios is a turn-based strategy game which combines modern warfare military tactics and close combat. Firearms and vehicles are scarce, conflicts and hostilities have no end, and the terrible freezing cold annihilates friends and foes in its path.Eight characters have to join forces for a common cause: find an important scientist kidnapped by a massive stratocracy. Along their way they will have to avoid raider attacks, investigate military headquarters, and infiltrate into the territory of a dangerous anti-technological religious sect.

- Tactical Combat Fight against three different factions, each one with its unique units, strategy and advantages. Soldiers, snipers, slippery bandits, knights immune to cold… Study your enemies, plan out every move and adapt to all confrontations!
- Exploration Travel through various locations, from military enclaves to medieval dungeons. There you can search for fulgor, new equipment for your characters, and pieces of information of the world you are in and the factions you face.
- Skill Trees As you find equipment compatible with each character, you can unlock and upgrade new skills, and combine them to make the perfect builds for your strategy.
- Resource Management Use all the fulgor you can find to defreeze your HP, decrease the cooldowns, and reanimate your fallen units.

The campaign sets in a frozen world, in which eight people – each one with its own problems and interests – join in a sort of temporary alliance, to find one particular person: Dr Margaret Blythe. On the trail of her whereabouts, they will travel and fight shoulder to shoulder, and they inevitably get to know the others. Depending on some strategic and personal decisions, you will guide this characters right to one of three possible endings.

There is much to be enjoyed in this game, so I won't give it a negative. But really, a game with no map, awkward camera angles and no zoom? No positioning before starting a battle, and on top of that the enemies have top positions, leaving you exposed or half covered and nowhere to run. Frequent battles with several snipers or officers that focus on and instakill your weakest character. But, it can be done... I got stuck in a room on level 7, completely overpowered and no cover. So I googled it and found a guy who used 2 melee characters and the switch position skill. Unfortunately I'm not motivated enough to replay the whole level. Tip: if you want to tackle Project Helios: you activate skills through objects you find, so turn that camera and look everywhere. Don't leave the map before having explored it in detail. The story is OK, dialogues are bad and not spoken, sound and music is good. Artwork and lore are excellent. Encountered no bugs.8 found this helpful
Not a bad game, but it's buggy and there are better games worth 10 euros. The gameplay gets boring after sometime.5 found this helpful
ENG A very poor and boring game; even if they gave it away for free, the price would still be too high. PL Bardzo słaba i nudna gra, nawet jakby rozdawali ją za darmo to i tak cena była za wysoka.3 found this helpful
A good and intense indie!
Turn-based, squad-based tactical game - mighty appealing to me! And yet, having played this through, I can't recommend this game for anyone, not with clean conscience. The terrible control system, the linearity, the...uhh..."story", the rudimentary inventory and pathetic pixel-hunting for "documents" which have no bearing on the "game's"...uhh..."story", the necessity of mucking about with the "skill trees" (more like weeds, trees might suggest something larger) because the "game" does occasionally "forget" the choices you made... The fights do pose a challenge, which is good, but since the "game" was, after all, designed to be completed (in a sense), it's usually the case of finding the right combination of actions and moving onwards to the next scripted combat. "Silent Storm", despite its age, outclasses this at every step.
1971 PROJECT HELIOS is not a good game, its problem is a lack of important components: - there is no setting for graphics in menu - there is no character voice - terrible music - combat is boring, cannot loot dead bodies - ankward camera and character control This post-apocalyptic setting deserves much more care and effort to be an enjoyable game.
