The long-standing 7 Wonders series keeps getting better and better! The fifth installment, 7 Wonders: Ancient Alien Makeover, adds an entirely new game component, new Wonders and a new and exciting material – Alien Energy!
The goal is still to construct exciting new Wonders by swapping same-colored runes to make matches of three or more to the tune of exploding bonuses. Make enough matches before time runs out to fill your arsenal with power-ups and the materials needed to complete your Wonders before your very eyes! As you complete each game board, bricks, water, gems, landscape, and now – Alien Energy! Excel and face bonus levels that take you deep below the earth’s surface to win materials like gold to adorn your Wonders! There is also, for the first time, a secondary game component to build a village! Mini-games rewards players with buildings and decorations to create their own village. Build all 7 Wonders and then unlock a magical 8th location, Nazca Valley! New game play and new Wonders await in Ancient Alien Makeover!

Reminds me a lot of bejeweled. Simple but fun enough. Would recommend if you get it in a cheap bundle or something like that.10 found this helpful
This is the last game my grandpa played before passing away. The 7 Wonders games are the games he spent the most time in when gaming and he loved them. I'm planning to play and 100% the game at some point as a way to honor him and I'm looking forward to it. But that's beside the point and irrelevant to the review. Personally, I think the gameplay loop can be addicting and I like it a lot. While I don't have a lot of time spent on it on my account, I played more when visiting grandpa. I also like the visual style and there is enough content to enjoy several hours. It's a good game to play when you want to relax a bit after a stressful day at work. This entry adds a lot more content and gameplay options compared to the classic 7 Wonders games, which is impressive at first glance. There are plenty of new features and systems, and it definitely feels more packed. For me though, it’s actually a bit overwhelming for such a simple type of game. The added complexity doesn’t always improve the experience, and after a few hours it started to feel a bit boring rather than engaging. It’s still fairly relaxing, but I think the simplicity of the original two games worked better overall. I’ll probably stick with those in the future.
Typical match 3 game, nothing special
Kinda fun, but a bit short.
