About 98xx

The 98xx was an old computer OS from the 90s that’s recently been discovered after many years of being lost. There are still a few working files within the OS that can be explored, but there are a few unexpected glitches. One program in particular which goes by the name of "Jumping Julian" on the surface seems like your typical 2D platformer, but as the game goes on, weird things start to happen. Play at your own risk!

Honestly got bored within the first hour. The games aren't at all challenging, some of the clues seem to lead to nowhere, and the jumpscares are extremely predictable and don't make sense within the context of the game. The lore also seems to be all over the place, and as another reviewer mentioned, the articles and websites are written with AI. Pretty disappointing. I can't believe I paid for it.1 found this helpful
its great its packed with jumpscares and runs well on low end hardware
98xx seems good, but not on the further edge. The game has a good concept, an Operating System that has remains of files which seem to help you uncover mysteries, but when I directly compared this to KinitoPET, the game barely can be equal to it. Troy did what was told in the front page of the game, to build up tension and suspense by bringing your enviroment into the game. While 98xx is told to be the exact same, this, however, is a false statement. The game only interacts with what was built inside of it, and the puzzles and mysteries are hid behind specific websites, THIS is when the game tries its best to bring in your environment, but it doesn't happen completely, since it only starts to force you to open up your browser and uncover mysteries through the game's websites. Overall, the game is great in my opinion, it just lacks some areas of true horror, as the game only brings up a image-inserted jumpscare in most of 98xx's programs. The game just tells you to scan QR codes, type in links, and solve puzzles right after a jumpscare, which is both stressing and can be triggering to some because of the unexpected jumpscares. I would play this as a second-hand if I d…
