The game was way to short for the price. There's not much more here than how far I got in the web version. I wish there was more content and story. It really did only take me 97 minutes to beat it, and a lot of that was waiting and repetitive actions.4 found this helpful
10/10 I fell in love with this game many many years ago. Back when it got released as a free website. After returning to the game every now and then - on the web, the app, and now on steam(!?), I feel like it would only be decent to give the author some credit. The steam edition is somewhat different from the original version. A few bugs here and there, but the new additions are welcome. [spoiler] A thing I found a bit sad (but maybe it's just me), was that the exposition is much more direct on the new steam version. The old version was truely ominous. You'd find meat, fur, scales and cloth etc in your traps. Cloth? you wonder - only to realize much later that you've probably eaten a few humans along the way. I absolutely love this. Here the new edition would in addition write stuff like: "Must push them. Make them work. Through the eternal night. They are slaves." A bit too much exposition in comparison. The workers also change name to slaves in the work delegation menu. The context would have been enough - especially with the builder's reaction to the player's advancement. Loved this game! Evocative design and storytelling that synergize well. It's part rudimentary settlement builder, part crafting, part roguelike exploration. And the plot unfolds in such a surprising, yet intriguing way. I obsessively played it through and had a great time!
this game is awesome <3 i much prefer the ui on the web version, but the pacing on this is definitely better. very nice little plot, fun exploration and combat; just very very clean and well done overall
super cool little game, started on the browser version and moved to this one soon after and its equally as fun
surprisingly comfortable for the type of game that it is and the story it tells. maybe it's nostalgia for me, because i played it initially in my browser many many years ago. still. very good game. totally worth it.
