It's a good start, but most of what's good about it is ripped straight from VotV. Nearly everything except the basic gameplay loop, which does itself take notes from it, is either directly taken or clearly inspired by mechanics of VotV, with no particular crediting of it anywhere. The wiring system is the most unique part of it, though its not particularly well documented in the game. While I would otherwise call it a good game, it's basically just VotV lite in an apartment building with stalking instead of space signals and a touch of Tunnet.7 found this helpful
I can't wait to be able to listen to the recordings, Right now its a great foundation!1 found this helpful
Sadly it's not even ready to be in early access. It copies VotV but not necessarily a bad thing. There's just no content and what there is is pretty barebones and unbalanced. I want this one to be good, but it needs more time in the oven.1 found this helpful
Obviously, this game is heavily inspired (possibly too much) by Voices of the Void (VotV) and if you haven't played that game, I highly suggest you play it first and enjoy it. (I'm sure the devs agree.) So far, it's an Early Access start of a game with some interesting stuff and it's addicting trying to clean the place up, like it was in VotV. I do annoyingly have items falling through floors (and other items) but hopefully that'll be patched out eventually. (...and that kind of stuff is expected with early access.) So far, it really doesn't have the horror and intrigue I expected, but hopefully that comes as updates release. Also hoping the devs try to make it their own with some unique mechanics/story. Also, like VotV, you can play this in VR with UEVR. I use mouse & keyboard, but it's nice to have that extra immersion. So far, I think I'd recommend the game. If you want a full, complete game, don't get one in Early Access state. If you want another game to scratch the VotV itch, I think this is enjoyable and I've certainly got my money's worth out of it. Looking forward to seeing what's next.
Beyond the Doors is an atmospheric horror simulation developed and published by Dream Error that blends exploration, surveillance management, mystery-solving, and psychological horror into a uniquely unconventional experience. Rather than following the traditional formula of running from monsters or surviving direct threats, the game builds its identity around observation and information gathering. Players find themselves living beneath a mysterious apartment building where strange events unfold behind closed doors, creating an unsettling experience driven by curiosity and discovery rather than action. The game's premise is immediately intriguing. Players occupy a small basement office beneath an apartment complex inhabited by unusual residents. During the day, the building appears relatively ordinary, but once night falls, hidden stories begin to emerge. Instead of interacting directly with the tenants, players investigate their activities by constructing a network of listening devices and surveillance systems. This unusual setup transforms the player into an observer whose primary tool is information rather than confrontation. One of the game's most distinctive strengths is its…
Despite its rough condition, I think it really nails the vibe and I could definitely see myself spending a few more hours just cleaning the hotel. These aspects are taken directly from Voices of the Void, but it still does them right. Something that bothered me is how the story tries to explain why your contact wants recordings of people in their hotel rooms. I kind of rolled my eyes when
I got the clunky email trying to explain why they need the recordings. I can't go back and check because the game has since updated, so I can only say that it was a lie so obvious that it was funny.

I think it would be more interesting if the contact was just upfront that they want recordings for themselves. When the email with the achievement 'revealed' that this person was secretly a weirdo, I was not surprised in the slightest. Something way more interesting could be done with the premise of the player character being a creep in over their head.
