A weird little adventure. It is not too coherent. You are a deserter from the French army during World War I and try to get home to your love. So far so good. The base premise is great and somewhat new. The only similar game that came to mind is Valiant Hearts. The art style is great, and the gritty mood is just perfect. Then you start to play. The game has no highlighter option, so you are forced to pixel hunt. Ah, sweet memories! Not really, it is a painful one to try everything everywhere, so you don't miss picking up something important. Clues are scarce and not very persistent. Why do you have to put the rib into the hay and not onto the tree or anywhere else to lure the dog? Beats me! Or why can't you shoot the owl first, then later you can? I don't know. There are no real motives in the game. Why do you make the potion? Why do you dig out the corpse? Why? Why? Why? It feels like you do things because there is nothing else to do, so you get bored and summon a monk's ghost. Only at the end does the whole story solve itself with a deus ex machina moment, and it ends with a cliffhanger. Yes, this one is just the first part of the story, and nothing is implying when the next c…

First of all, the sound design is incredible! It really feels like you’re right in the middle of a battlefield, which makes the game so much more immersive. I also read that all the art is hand drawn, and I can only imagine how much work must have gone into it. I’ve only played the beginning so far, but there are already so many landscapes, locations, and characters to interact with. I’m really looking forward to continuing the game!

I love this game so far, love the art, the sound effects and the story. It has so much personality and it is very simple to control. That doesn't mean it's easy, I got stuck 2 times already but then I found the solutions and when that happens, it feels very satisfying!

The theme of this game and art is refreshing and original. The puzzles were interesting and sometimes challenging, but the game still finds subtle ways to help you when needed (or not if you want to go hard). The sound design and overall atmosphere are immersive and perfectly executed! If you like point-and-click games, this is a great one to add to your collection.

I managed to play through this chapter tonight live on a stream, and me and my viewers enjoyed trying to work our way through the game. One puzzle in particular was very difficult and we struggled as a group to solve it, but other than that, for the most part it was manageable! Nice artwork, a solid gameplay system great use of atmospheric background sound, and some fun characters in the game. Look forward to chapter 2! : )
