About A Trip to Yugoslavia: Director's Cut

A TRIP TO YUGOSLAVIA is an experimental interactive game with a theme of the old VCR player (with the ability to REWIND, PAUSE and FASTFORWARD).

Yugoslavia has fallen apart. No one knows what caused it. Some people ran away instantly and some of them still don't know that the war has just begun
Including you. You're taking a role of Dimitri, an amateur photographer, who has been caught in the nearby Yugoslavian forest on the outskirts of town. Now, without any combat knowledge, you have to survive a few months of war in a desolated country.

Welcome on a one way trip...

Game features:

  • Full Motion Video
Thanks to FMV you can get immersed even more into your one way trip.
  • Point & Click sections
Explore the environment, collect items, hide the bodies…
  • QuickTime events
Press the arrow in the right direction to get out in one piece. Otherwise, you might die or change the outcome of the entire story.
  • Choose your own path
Your decisions throughout the whole game can lead you to one of the ten available endings.
  • VCR system
Rewind, Pause and FASTFORWARD the tape you’re watching.

STEAM version exclusive content:

  • 12 minutes of additional gameplay
  • Three new endings
  • Four new achievements
  • Mac & Linux ports
  • Steam achievements and trading cards

This game isn't based on any real Yugoslavian conflict

WARNING: Linux and Mac versions are experimental. Buy at your own risk.

Didn't realise that I owned this at all. After playing this, I'll probably forget that I own it again.

I have mixed feelings about this. QTEs are just hard to comprehend. The save system forces you to accept the failure, so you have to start over and over again. The game runtime for a first playthrough is around 30 min, but no flowchart to start where you want to, so you too see everything, you have to play it over and over again. But the game is at least not that long, and it also has the charm of a student movie. It's one of the games of all time. Idk it was just goofy and weird lol. I was expecting something serious about Yugoslavian civil war and stuff. Of course there's an effort put into it, I congratulate the devs for it but you could definitely do something way better with what you have that this.

Pretty good game, though in some parts the arrows telling the player what direction to press was hard to see. it has a interesting story line and for being made by what looks to be a bunch of school kids, it is fairly well produced
