About Abi and the soul

Abi wakes up without memory on a somewhat strange island, perhaps somewhat magical, where thanks to the help of a celestial light, she will be able to overcome various puzzles and reach places never thought of.

Undoubtedly a story of love and fantastic friendship where you will have to discover the mystery of the place and recover all your memories by finding small fragments scattered throughout the island.

Play with the two characters.

When you play with "soul" you can move freely around the place, to anticipate dangers, activate magical mechanisms and help Abi in various situations.

When you play as "Abi" soul will follow you to protect you and guide yourself in any circumstance. When she moves away from you you can call her with a hiss and she will immediately fly to your side.

Main features:

  • For fans of Journey, Firewatch and Shelter.
  • An emotional and intimate story by a one-man team with an unforgettable ending.
  • Use two characters with completely different mechanics to overcome puzzles.
  • Enjoy the incredible soundtrack.
  • A short game (about an hour and a half), focused on the story, with a bit of light puzzle solving and platforming.

I tried. I tried so hard to give this game a chance. This is the SLOWEST "puzzle platformer" I have ever seen. I was aware that I was purchasing a game for an age demographic well below my own, but this is basically unplayable. The maps are massive, several mechanics are busted, and you move painfully slow. Visuals: - The world is lifeless. The few animals you do encounter are odd. The rabbits were nice though. - Character faces don't move; makes them look creepy. - Level 1 was nice and bright. Level 2 and 3 were so dark you couldn't see. 1 tiny ball of light following you around is not enough. Made the last level extremely difficult (Move the Soul forward a few feet, switch back, follow it, repeat.) Movement: - Everything is painfully SLOW: walking, flying, climbing, and don't get me started on the horizontal climbing speed. - We're taught in the first level that climbing vines doesn't work. Then we are made to climb vines in the final level? Also, I wasn't allowed any horizontal movement on the vines. In order to progress I had to climb up with the Soul following me, climb down so I would actually stand on the Soul (it has collision), and then jump off of it to the ledge. - Unf…

I'm not really sure if "Abi and the soul" is an asset flip. Some elements of this game certainly make it seem like the developer put some effort into assembling some kind of original here. On the other hand, a lot of the game assets don't seem like they were created by the developer, but they haven't credited any asset creators for supplying assets, which might be a case of plagiarism. There's no evidence, so we need to give the benefit of the doubt... regardless, asset flip or not, the quality here is indistinguishable from many asset flip/cash grab scams, and that's a problem in itself. It's a very poorly made 3D puzzle platformer that seems more like a tech demo or a student project than a real game. You take on the role of a little girl who wakes up on the beach (man, waking up on a beach is the biggest gaming trope of our lifetime), and you follow a glowing ball to embark on your adventure exploring a rather poorly slapped together island environment. Amazing scope and breadth for a game, what a time to be alive. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standa…

This game is like the Dark Souls of platformers, I struggled for so long to figure out the puzzles. I even had to become a disembodied spirit to activate floating platforms that allowed me to scale up the waterfall into the great plains of Abbadon. There I forged the legendary spear Gungir and defeated the minitaur curse's Minotaur spelled correctly. Thank you.
