ABOVE is a narrative-based, atmospheric psychological horror game set entirely in broad daylight.You play as Joyce, a lone park ranger stranded beside her disabled car on a remote desert road in Idaho. The engine is dead. There is no respite. Only temporary shelter, open ground, and the growing sense that something above you is watching, listening, and waiting.Explore the surrounding landscape, discover pieces of a scattered diary and unsettling radio exchanges that slowly piece together a deeply personal and tragic story about family, guilt, and sacrifice. This is a compact, story-driven experience designed to be completed in a single sitting. Excellent and free game. Let me tell you everything you need to know about this brief game with extremely good graphics. Basically, the game is 1 quest, where you have to turn on some 6 power station machines. You need to take cover below roofed things while you do so, because a UFO in the sky is seeking to kill you. You should learn to find the stations using the binoculars. You can pick up and use fire extinguishers to avoid being killed if you're caught by the UFO. The hardest machine to power on is the one wayyy behind the gas station, close to an industrial building. (I... kinda cheated to complete the game by positioning myself next to that one *before* spawning the UFO which happens once you press Q). The other difficult power station to power on is the other one (a bit closer) behind the gas station, the rest are manageable: the 3 or so behind the car you can run in an arc. My only caveat is that it's so short, but can't complain with a free game! Important: for fellow Linux users: it runs well on Linux!1 found this helpful
Completed it in 50 mins, got most of the achievments. the pacing is tight, the visuals punch way above what i expect from free titles, and the way the threat forces you to plan your route between cover is clever. Frankly honestly impressive.1 found this helpful
first horror game ive actually finished cause usually i chicken out, but this kept me going. tense but fair once you get it. loved every minute
great vibe, got softlocked once and had to restart but after that it was smooth. the desert horror thing is underused in games and they did it justice here. recommend

I remember seeing NOPE the film, this game reminds me a lot of it, its tense and mysterious, the gameplay loop is fun and solid. The graphics look gorgeous, They used Unreal engine to its maximum potential, it feel so real, even the camera movements. When i saw that you could actually find hidden dialogues and places, i started searching for them, i didn't expect it tbh the scream when you die terrifies me. I'm interested in seeing where they go next with this game.
