About Accordion Solitaire

A different kind of solitaire.

Accordion Solitaire is a more difficult, more strategic variation of solitaire. Starting with a shuffled deck, you will draw cards and make decisions about how to stack them based on matching ranks and suits. But there are strict rules about when cards can be stacked:
  • When a stack is adjacent to a matching rank or suit.
  • When a stack is separated from a matching rank or suit by exactly two other stacks.
The goal of the game is to begin with one deck of cards, and end up with one stack of cards. It will be trickier than you might think!

Features

Multiple Rulesets

Accordion Solitaire features 3 rulesets that change the way the game is played:
  • Strict
  • Draw one card at a time, and all possible moves must be made before drawing again.
  • Relaxed
    • Draw one card at a time, but you can continue to draw without making all possible moves if you choose.
  • Free
    • Draw the entire deck at once and play with full knowledge.
  • Accessibility

Accordion Solitaire comes with some accessibility features that make it possible for all to play.
    • Possible move hints
    • When holding a stack, possible moves will be highlighted to make it easier to understand your options. Defaults to On.
  • Auto draw
    • Automatically draw cards until there is a possible move (only applicable when using Strict or Relaxed rules) so you don't have to click the deck manually as often. Defaults to On.
  • Reduced motion
    • By default stacks shake when they have possible moves to make it easier to understand your options. If the shaking is distracting or overwhelming, you can force all stacks to stay still. Defaults to Off.
  • High contrast
    • Places a color filter over each suit to make it easier to understand when stacks have matching suits. Defaults to Off.
  • Music & Sound
    • Fully adjustable Music and Sound sliders allow you to modify volume in-game. Music and Sound can also be enabled or disabled. Defaults to enable Music and Sound, with volume set to 50%.
  • Tutorial

If the above rule explanation is difficult to wrap your head around, don't worry! There's a full tutorial in-game that will explain the concepts of Accordion Solitaire very clearly. The tutorial uses the following features:
    • Strict ruleset
    • Show possible move hints
    • Auto draw
The tutorial takes possible move hints even further by dimming stacks which would be impossible to move your held stack onto. The tutorial will equip you with everything you need to know in order to be successful at Accordion Solitaire!

Very nice solitaire game on some immaculately chill vibes. A lovely retreat from getting blasted in the face on Arc Raiders.

The art is beautiful and it's very satisfying to mindlessly click away. The "free" ruleset is my favorite, where you draw the whole deck at the beginning and try to plan all your moves in advance.
