Aces High III

monthly subscription for a 26 year old game

All of my old squaddies are gone on to different games or the grave now but there's still a little life left in this unique flight sim / strategy game that has brought me back chasing a certain camaraderie once again. I probably have 4 or 5 thousand hours of this game from the years before steam ever thought about hosting this game. The ads from the history channel brought me to this game in roughly 2007 while I was still in high school. I was quickly picked up by one of the larger squadrons on the Bishop team (Falcon23 and The Alchemists *A*) and I came to bond with a surly bunch of old geezers that had migrated from games like Air Warrior, War Birds, the Jane's games, etc that had come before Aces High. These dudes taught me a lot about life and successfully fighting in a WW2 environment and how to think strategically to take bases from the evil Knights and Rooks. We would fly for hours every day fighting alongside other squadrons taking bases and denying the other side bases so we could go on to win the war and get a new map. Nape of the earth smash and grab base captures with regularly 40 or 50 guys flying Lancasters, P-38 Lightnings, N1k Nikkis were always my favor…

From a VR standpoint, this game is genuinely fun and immersive aside from the occasional bug. there are no bugs that greatly affect the gameplay though. No in game purchases, no DLC's, just a pure dogfighting experience that's completely free. 9/10, really good game.

this game is one of the best flight sims out there period it may not be top notch graphics, its buggy glitches sometimes i know most of you will see my play time and go what's he yapping about but i used to play this long before steam flew for 13 years in this game before i had to leave the community is one of if not the best community i have ever been apart of during my 13 years i flew for the 364th C-Hawks,Pigs on the wing,ArchAngels, the times i have had within this game can never be replaced nor the friends i have gained and sadly lost during the years i mean what other community honors a man dying in the real world and the entire player base ups for a memorial flight for them i have been gone for awhile as i said to many memories in this game to see the negative reviews it shows me either you have never trully gotten into this game and really played it or its a skill issue there are so many people that used to play this that ran training sessions the training room was full of players helping the rookie out its sad to see a low player count as i just redownloaded it on steam to all the fallen we still remember. >S< Sagehand/Reborn oh yeah hey Molsman Remember the great Gooney r…
