Aces Under the Moonlight™

Art is pretty much the only thing the game has going for it unfortunately. The gameplay isn't really fun, nothing is really satisfying to hit, and the AI isn't good whatsoever. It's free so I'm not going rag on it too much, may as well get it. Think the creator is working on a platform fighter now (?)...hopefully that does well. This game just feels like a proof of concept more than anything.

I thought this was a fighting game, but it's more like a volleyball game. nice concept, can't wait for the cool updates.

I genuinely try not to leave negative reviews, especially for indie games and projects still in development, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had. The gameplay is similar to *Lethal League*, but instead of hitting your opponent, the objective is to score by getting the ball into a small goal on the opposite side of the arena. The character designs are somewhat interesting, and their in-game artwork looks nice, but that's where my praise ends. The music is terrible, the menus are confusing and visually cluttered. I understand the aesthetic the developers were aiming for, but they prioritized style over functionality. The game only has a pause feature that freezes the screen and doesn't even let you quit the game. The camera zoom during matches is awful, and it feels like the art wasn't designed with gameplay readability in mind, since the linework is so thin that it's easy to mistake the characters for parts of the background. I also never felt like I had much control over the ball after throwing it. Concept is good. Execution is bad. The font makes everything so damn hard to read, there's no tutorial whatsoever, and I don't see any online multiplayer or CPU. (But I also can't check because you can hardly read anything)
