About ADventure Lib

Something distinctly odd is happening in the Kingdom. In the town square, the plungers are feuding and the situation is quickly going down the drain. A huge, fire-breathing kitten has besieged the castle and threatens to bring catastrophe. And you just can’t brush off the fact that the King is actually an old wooden broom who wants to sweep all these mix-ups under the rug.

In this wacky parody adventure, the ridiculousness is unstoppable. Think “MadLibs” meets a classic “collect-and-combine” adventure game - but with more puns and time-traveling robots.

Features

ADventure Lib is a classic fantasy adventure game, except...
 • Randomness
 • Silliness
 • Awesome Puns
 • Chickens that aren't usually chickens (but probably still taste like chicken).
 • A terrible something that can only be described as “fish.”
 • The Coming Singularity
 • Epic Feuds
 • Impending death by kitten fire (or pineapple fire, or princess fire, or, well you get the idea)!

About ADventure Lib

Have you ever noticed that the puzzles in point & click adventures are bizarre or outright ridiculous? Like “combine the fishing line with the artichoke to get the platypus to open the grate so the rubber ducky floats down the tube...” when all you really wanted to do was open a door or something?

Adventure Lib lovingly pokes fun at this roundabout nonsense with puzzles that are more than ridiculous, they are completely random! All the characters and items you interact with are literally swapped with each other, so you could be Plunger the Brave, whose quest is to open the locked pants of legend and solve outlandish item combination puzzles like putting butter on robots (that would totally short its circuits).

ADventure Lib is not a long game, but it is designed for re-playability - much of the fun is found by playing multiple times and discovering new \ jokes, and new object-specific puns and dialogue.

Should I Play ADventure Lib?

If you like randomness, puns, point & click adventures, and parodies, then definitely. This is a silly game, for silly people.

Object Manager

Want to add even more awesome wackiness? There is now an Object Manager that allows you to add your own objects or characters, to be immediately shuffled into the game! You can draw a banana, record yourself saying "banana" and before you know it you could be walking around as Banana the Brave!

ADventure Lib is a quirky concept that was almost, but not quite, turned into a workable adventure game. The fundamental concept is that nouns, various objects, are jumbled up, and then slotted into a basic adventure game. For example, instead of saving the "princess" from the "dragon" with a "sword", you have to save the "broom" from the "toilet" with a "kitten". With that simple but unusual gimmick out of the way, it's an incredibly shallow and uninteresting game. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. Unfortunately this there isn't much game content at all, and what gameplay there is is very average. And that's a problem in itself... The game is very very short (only 4 screens) and can be finished in 15 minutes. I'm not advocating anyone should do this, it wouldn't be right, but it's possible to buy the game, finish and refund in less than the 2 hour refund window on Steam. That aside, d…

ADventure Lib, developed and published by Fancy Fish Games, is an eccentric, self-aware parody of the traditional adventure game that thrives on absurdity and unpredictability. Rather than following a set narrative or offering a cohesive world, it leans into chaos as its defining feature. It takes the structure of a simple point-and-click fantasy adventure—complete with a hero, a villain, a kingdom in peril, and a host of objects to collect—and scrambles everything into unpredictable nonsense. Every time you play, the names, items, and characters are shuffled like pieces of a broken puzzle, resulting in a story that’s always new, always incoherent, and often hilarious. The game’s premise feels like what would happen if a classic adventure title collided with a child’s Mad Libs book and the result was left to run wild. The gameplay structure mirrors old-school adventure design but with an intentional layer of randomness. You explore short, side-scrolling areas, interact with characters, and solve puzzles by combining items you collect. What makes it unique is that the words and names in each run are completely randomized, turning every playthrough into a new comedic experiment. One…
Summary
A short interesting adventure game with a twist where items are randomized for each playthrough. Pros + Humorous Cons - Short
Overview
ADventure Lib is a short and strangely interesting twist on the adventure genre. The story is the same each playthrough but the whole point of the game is that each playthrough completely randomizes items. So you could be a potato that has to get rid of a broom from terrorizing a pineapple, for another playthrough you could be a toilet vanquishing a kitten to save a butter knife. At times it can be quite hilarious as some combinations are just plain silly. Being an adventure game there is still the aspect of inventory and items you need to find and use at certain points. Since items are always getting randomized you really need to remember just what things are supposed to be for that playthrough. Characters do refer to the correct item so if you forget or are confused just go back to them and they will tell you what it is that they're looking for. Checking the inventory and inspecting items also gives you an explanation and description so you can kind of surmise to what they are supposed to be. Achievemen…

It's just an extremely short point and click adventure game with all the objects scrambled at the start. So basically it's a glorified mad lib that you don't even get to fill in yourself. While the first playthrough (which will take you around ten minutes) can be mildly fun if you like "lol so random" type humor, every subsequent playthrough just...isn't. Scrambling the stuff really doesn't do anything for the replay value. If it had multiple short scenarios you might get dropped in it might be different but instead its the same very simple ten minute point and click with four small areas each time. And honestly fighting a fire breathing kitten with a potato to save the robot isn't that much different from fighting a fire breathing peasant with a toilet to save the rope or whatever. If this game were free it might be worth a short spin but for $1.99 it's just a ripoff.
