Adventures of Human Being

Warning: this game requires forklift certification. Short and strange lo-fi adventure. Most of the game is simple fetch quests peppered with very simple switch operating and box moving puzzles. Not a lot to say regarding gameplay other than it is fast, boiling adventure game design to its bare components. The author wanted to create a story about an everyman leading a revolution, but several things muddle any message the game might have. It's meant to be both whimsical and provocative, with a duck complaining about minimum wage labor and a cat gleefully committing various acts of civil disobedience, but you're forced to do weird dicky things sometimes. The worst example: [spoiler]you buy some stuff from a drug dealer that a nurse needs to illegally make medicine. After the nurse creates the medicine, she gets in trouble with the authorities. Your character resolves to turn the drug dealer in to the police to turn their attention away from the nurse and save her. Didn't the drug dealer help you in the process of making the medicine? As a person aiding a revolutionary faction (here called THE REVOLTING) or a nurse manufacturing illegal drugs, aren't you all criminals? Why is the dr…

This is a very short adventure game with simple puzzles. It can be completed in about one hour. See it more as an experience than a game. The main appeal is the monochrome design which takes me back to the 8-bit era, when you could recreate your game world by redrawing 8x8 monochrome characters. And it's full of this charm.

Wonderful game that packs more of an emotional punch than much larger projects. The conclusion to the story is very satisfying. The puzzles are entertaining and had me pause a couple of times. The music is charming and suits the adventure theme. The developer has clearly put in the effort and they should be proud of the finished product.
