You get rewarded with more points for hitting shots from farther away. However, it only takes into consideration your position when your shot hits an enemy, not where you fired it from. It doesnt matter if you fired from a kilometer away. If you are close when the arrow finally connects with the enemy, you get no bonus points. Who decided to do it like this?

I thought I would like this game, but the platforming isn't tight enough, and the bow never hits its target when aiming with the crosshair. Everything in game feels unfinished, loose, and very unpolished. 4/10

+ cheap -- neither good nor interesting -- movement basic and bad -- shooting slow and sad If you want to practice jumping and shooting arrows at the same time, there are better options. Basic Unity3D engine SDK clicking nonsense, sold as a 'game'. This game also does the lazy dev (Unity3D engine) on start thing: detecting your 4K monitor using borderless at max resolution and then starting on ULTRA settings at unlimited FPS, just to show you the 3D game running as a 'menu background'. If you want to 'shoot and jump', traversing through space, this thing neither needs Depth of Field effect, nor Bloom or any of that fancy stuff. Yet, the engine offers it and the dev clicked on it. Setting the graphics on lowest helps, but cannot escape what it is: ugly and bad. Any PS2 or Sega Genesis platformer is superior to this. My advise? Go practice archery in Kingdom Come Deliverance instead.

This is the first game I played from this developer and little did I know the rabbit hole this would send me down. I do not like this game. It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. I played through 7 of the worlds and it was torture. However, I find this game and the developer fascinating. While not fun to play, I like bad games because I find them very engaging from an academic perspective. I love every aspect of designing games and bad games can be particularly fascinating to think about. What works, what doesn't, and why. Adverse is a treasure trove of bad design. A speed running centric, precision platformer where the platforming is atrocious. The third platforming centric game from the same developer and the platforming has arguably gotten even worse. Starting off with the basics, momentum in this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥. For a developer who started off with a game called Inertia, they still do not seem to have any understanding of what inertia is. Keeping your speed up in this game is damn near impossible. Platforms are not spaced out in a way that makes jumping between them smooth. Single jumps are rarely enough but double jumps will usually send you flying right past your intended destination. So you…
