Akin to Pieter Lastman's 'Jonah and the Whale' (1621), Rantan Games' 'AGERASIA' is an artistic retelling of man's estrangement and subsequent finding of God at his lowest point. Throughout my journey, I was subject to many a trial that tested all facets of my humanity. From a gothic horror detective period piece which draws obvious inspiration from Robert Lewis Stevenson's 'The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde' (1886) with allegories to Darwinism and Scottish Nationalism, to a futuristic invasion space opera reminiscent of H. G. Wells' 'The War of the Worlds' (1898) dissecting the morality of colonial imperialism, I was forced to reflect on what it is that truly makes us human. I have been disillusioned from the comforts of our fragile, tragic society, and it is a truth I wish for no one else to bear, but alas, I am too weak a man to continue carrying this knowledge alone. “Nobody, however mighty, can do as he likes with the world. None can stop the sun from setting, none reverse the flow of rivers. But any man is able to do as he likes with his own mind.” - Natsume Sōseki, I Am A Cat (1905)

I am a member of staff for this project as a VA and betatester! Even with my bias aside AGERASIA is such a unique spin on a visual novel and the artstyle is absolutly beautiful. It's hard to give a proper description considering every route is different from the last, but I do think anybody can pick up this game and come out of it having enjoyed one, if not all of the routes.

Santa Cactus needs their own full route. Other than that, it's perfect.
