AIdol: Artificial Intelligence Idol

It's not awful, but there's better out there; bought this on deep discount very long ago specifically FOR the soundtrack. AIdol is a vanilla, cutesy story about a shut-in girl who has to put it all on the line for the object of her affection: the AI Idol. Across her adventure, she makes friends, commits crime, & depending on player choice, saves her idol. It features several decisions, 8 endings, a diverse (if tropey) cast, & a fun soundtrack. Overall, the art/CGs, tone, pacing, & writing are unfortunately juvenile - which isn't the worst thing if you're new to VNs or this category of story. The writing stretches on longer than it needs to, with some unfunny humor, questionable morals (for individual characters, relationships, & the climax itself), & repetitive, tropey antics. That said, there are a few genuinely witty, relatable, & heartwarming moments. Of note, there are a few segments emulating web forums which felt like a trip to pre-2010 & all the ancient memery & cringe it entails... Technically, it runs as well & easily as it should for a VN. Multiple save slots, an ending & music viewer. Typos are present but rare. A fair amount of time, characters' portraits are missing…

AIdol is a very good visual novel game with a beautiful story. The graphics are nice and the soundtrack is Chill and relaxing... I highly recommend it. 💗💗💗

Aidol did, what „Carpe Diem“ failed at. This novel uses very similar idea, to the second mentioned title, however the execution is significantly better. Aidol is a story about artificial intelligence idol, of whome main protagonist Hana is a fan of. The story focus on both of them. As a fan of Japanese idol media, fictional and real world (Idolm@ster/”Lyrical School”), I was excited to read a VN about this topic, however I was a bit cautious with my hype. Nonetheless, this game didn’t disappoint me. It’s obvious after reading, that the author did good research about the medium, because the events are realistic and plausible. They make sense! What further makes sense are the characters. They have depth and are perfectly written. They feel realistic. They have feelings. They have thoughts. They feel genuine. Especially Hana the main heroine of the story. I ended up really fond of her character. The story offers few different routes, that offer more insight into various characters, so it’s definitely recommended to try them, all to find out more. None of them is boring or redundant. The aesthetic is perfect. The problem is the writing should've either been really dark or really fluffy. Instead it's awkwardly tense. Have cute friendship interactions while watching hatsune miku die over a week kills the cute vibe. I would've rather she just made friends and goofed off with how the cover looked. Please consider lowering the stakes next time so that we can have a chill novel to eat snacks to. The game is fine the way it is but the packaging screamed sweets and instead what I got was sweet and sour. It's fine but I just wanted sweet.
