AKIBA'S TRIP: Hellbound & Debriefed

TLDR Unhinged Otaku game, if you enjoyed Undead & Undressed you will enjoy this one. Basically a worse version of U&U, but the dialogue makes up for it. Definitely worth a playthrough or two. I say this with 100% completion, don't bother with NIRO ending or HOLIC difficulty.

Getting stunlocked more than a casual player in a WoW battleground was certainly an experience. Awesome game 10/10

Ear-killing volume until you pass/skip the intro (no main menu volume controls) and unplayable controller issues on some dinput controllers (including but not limited to PS5/SixSense) even though the store pade claims full controller support for detected controllers. Reported when the game launched in 2021 but never fixed.

akiba's trip hellbound and debriefed... in short, the game is great. if you love akiba's trip undead and undressed you'll probably like this game. but the biggest difference between the two is hands down the combat mechanic and the aesthetic. i would say most people would love the second game's combat more but the more i play this game... the more i love this one more than the second. it's much slower, you don't even have knock down moves most of the time, and it feels weigthy and desperate than the second game which feels kinda floaty. the aesthetic is also the biggest change here. you see, undead and undressed is very colourful but this game leans more into the gritty urban aesthetic, the tone also takes itself much more seriously than undead and undressed which in my opinion, is what i like more about this game. my biggest dissapointment though, is the voice acting. like i don't know what in the world goes on during the production but it sounds kinda bad in english though the japanese is fine. as for the scores, a bit hard to rate but i think i'll give it a 6/10. it's very clunky and while it's what's interesting to me, i can see it being kinda bad to other people. the story in …

Even though the game supports Dualshock 4 natively, it does not work properly with or without Steam input. Neither does a Dualsense. I heard an XBox controller doesn't always work properly either. I'm not about to play a game like this on a keyboard and mouse. And the devs seem to have released this game as an afterthought on PC because there is never going to be a proper fix to this. You can barely find anything on the internet aside from people also having these problems to begin with. It is a shame because I KNOW it is a really fun game. I played the earlier installment on PS4. I guess I'll never play it on PC.

I would give it a mixed review if the option was here. This game is very fun at the beginning, but gets really tedious after the 3 run, because yes, you need to do the story 5 full runs without taking on care lots of missable content and the hardest difficulty. The camera is kinda clunky and talks volumes about it being a PSP game remaster. Other than that, its okay. But really, sometimes I would consider dropping because of so many runs needed.
