Among distant stars a lone Robot Knight must stand against an ancient and unfathomable evil. Explore the vast and alien Degathalion space station and battle the nefarious Xetanoids in a daring quest to confront their rulers and save the Centaurus galaxy. Aetagradion, an immortal alien cyborg and leader of the Xetanoids has enslaved the galaxy and stolen the sacred Protos Orb technology to bend it to his horrid will. With no one to stand in the Xetanoids way the fate of Centaurus looks bleak. Yet from cosmic origins a hero has arrived. You must fight your way through the Degathalion and recover the lost Protos Orbs; Confront Aetagradion and put an end to his reign of terror.
In the mission to defeat the Xetanoids, you play as Alas, a heroic and sentient robot. He is an intergalactic lawman of celestial might, tasked with bringing justice to the cosmos. And he has not come unprepared for a fight! Armed with a righteous power sword, trusty force shield and plasma side-arm, you must mete out retribution on the Xetanoids. Yet the Degathalion is a deadly domain of pitfalls and unexpected dangers which Alas must blast through on the wings of his fusion powered Jetpack. As you explore and recover the lost Protos Orbs, Alas's power will grow and a greater array of advanced weaponry will become available. Nuke the Xetanoids with the mega plasma cannon, or cleave them to pieces with the mighty power axe, while zooming through the dark twisting tunnels of the Degathalion.

"Alas Astra" is an abandoned early access third person shooter/adventure game where you control a robot and shoot stuff. The graphics look pretty good but the control scheme is a mess. The game was abandoned three years ago, unfortunately, and will never be completed, which disqualifies this for being recommendable to gamers. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming idustry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 5 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Исследование космоса, сбор ресурсов, улучшение корабля и дипломатия с различными фракциями - все это продумано до мелочей. Несмотря на свою сложность, игра достаточно дружелюбна к новичкам благодаря обучению и возможности регулировать уровень сложности. Единственный минус - иногда не хватает информации о некоторых механиках, и приходится искать ответы в вики. В целом, это отличная игра для тех, кто любит сложные и захватывающие стратегии с высокой реиграбельностью. Рекомендую к ознакомлению всем любителям космоса и roguelike-игр.
The graphics are decent and I like how you are just dumped into the game without an explanation as if setting up some future world building. However, as it is, the UI is pretty bad. The hit boxes for enemies are super small requiring you to be right on top of them to do any damage. The same can be said for the puzzle interactive elements. Rather than being able to adjust the "puzzle pieces" from the front of the console I had to jump around just to get into position to "grab" and adjust. There is menu to speak of to figure out controls and somehow I got stuck in strafing mode which made the puzzle that much more difficult. It has potential but needs work and I hope the devs will take their time with it.
