"Alterworld" is a blatant, low-effort clone of Minecraft (Copyright Microsoft/Wojang/Notch, 2009). It seems some "amateur" developers think copyright laws are optional, choosing to ripoff games from real developers without conscience. This one is even less ambitious than Minecraft, which makes people wonder, why do amateur developers see someone else's game, try to rip it off but worse because they aren't qualified to develop such games, and then publish them on Steam Direct? Having a worse version of Minecraft isn't something gamers want. And wow, this really is deficient compared to Minecraft. The use of voxels is cludgy and the game looks awful (and Minecraft already looks bad, there's a reason the most popular mods for Minecraft are attempts to fix the visuals). Beyond the obvious ethical and creative bankruptcy involved stealing other people's game ideas, they failed the basic rule of game design: if you are going to rip off someone else's game, you have to at least try to improve on it. Instead, "Alterworld" is much worse than the original Minecraft. The developers gave up on this 8 months ago. It's destined to remain unfinished. This junkware is just polluting Steam …
