Among Trees

I was looking for a cozy survival game and Among Trees seemed promising. I really enjoy the calming music, art, and general ambiance. But once the house is built there is not much propelling me to continue playing. Food is very easy to come by, its better to eat raw mushrooms & plants than cook anything. I think something like recipes would vastly help this along with a desire to 100% the game. The rabbits and deer tease you at every turn but you will never be able to hunt them. Fishing is fine, but there seem to be only 4 types of fish to catch. Adventuring is nice, but with such a small inventory you're forced to head back to base frequently, especially if you're building the cabin. Once the cabin is built, the whole game just became... pointless. No direction. Perhaps that is the point, no point. But it made for a bit of directionless gameplay that quickly lost its shine. I think this game has promise, the stage is set but it lacks depth or anything to hold you here, to keep you coming back. Dont get me started on the bear.

I LOVE it :) peaceful and sensory. (IF ---YOU PUT IT ON ZEN/EASY) On this easy version, I have found the tent and the fire. I'm looking forward to using them on a 'camping trip' :D -------------------- B U T.... IF you do the harder (NORMAL) version, I found... The dying constantly is irritating. you die in one half day (from morning til night) of dehydration, hunger, freezing or lack of sleep. and then you lose everything on your person that you went out to collect, even a crafting plan you found. You cannot reload an old save game if you accidentally discard a hard-earned canteen, you LOSE it. It's not balanced. You have no recourse to fight the bear and he can run faster than you can, even from the edge of the forest. it's just a study in lose/lose. ... start over and over and over. I am not a Newby gamer. IF I had found the tent, the fire and a few other mentioned blueprints......perhaps? SO...........that ends my edits. I erased the long tirade, the pompous critique and the gripey whining...........I think.

this had the potenial to be amazing, but they seem to have stopped working on it sadly
