I played through this game solo. It's clearly very good, but also, it feels that the latter part of the game is still not tuned properly. Levels 1-40/45 felt pretty good. You get a constant stream of skills, figuring out the world and getting new gear feels great. The quest guides you around the place and you quickly make sense of the map. Then you get to lvl 45. The grind then becomes BRUTAL. Getting the 5th mercenary takes ages. Your AI companions don't have access to all their kit. You can respec, but you can't have a second spec unlocked until way too late in the game. You have to meticulously equip all your mercs, which is something you wouldn't do in MP, but doing that is painful, slow, and tedious because the UI lacks a bunch of QOL (why do I have to unequip TO BAG to equip to a Merc? Why can I click to my char but I have to drag to a merc? Why do I have to dismiss mercs to equip another one if my party is full? The other aspect is that the active gameplay is a bit repetitive. In other MMOs (which this is trying to emulate), you have much more space for clutch plays. Dot management, off tanking and aggro swapping, CC, pet control, boss mechanics. None of that is here. I…

Ancient Kingdoms does a great job rewarding players who enjoy long-term character progression. Building your character, experimenting with different classes, collecting stronger equipment, tackling dungeons, and gradually taking on tougher bosses makes every level feel meaningful.

I'm going to thumbs up because i'm overall enjoying the game. But dungeon mobs NEED to eventually de-agro. you could be fleeing a dungeon because there's a random enemies 15 levels higher than the rest and while you run every mob you run past follows you and they never stop. It was at the point where i had 30 plus mobs following close behind me while I try to navigate the overly long maze of tunnels to get to the entrance. Also please fix the magic animations. You just swing your magic staff as if it was a sword and the magic fires from 10 feet above your head instead of from the actual staff, it looks pretty rough.

My buddy gifted this to me and I wasn't sure I would like. I played it for 6 hours straight the first time I played it and I can't stop now. It's such a good blend of different game mechanics and I love the mmo/solo rpg style of the game. I can play single player, join my friends on a private server we make, or join a public server and game with other people. It's a great game.

This is a great game with addictive gameplay and beautiful artwork. I love that you can hire mercenaries to join you in dungeons or difficult content. The loot is interesting and exciting to obtain. skills and reps feel rewarding/interesting. I plan to play this game much more, and will likely learn a lot about the game's systems. A couple things that presented issues for me are that I seem to have hit a wall where I'm not sure where to go at level 38-40. The level 40 quests and content I have available are too difficult, but the lower level content I am aware of is too trivial. Some areas seem to blend very challenging enemies along with very trivial enemies. I suspect that I have missed something in the quest process that has caused me to get off track, and I am contemplating starting over on a new character to see how smooth it would be with my current knowledge. Although this is self-inflicted, I would personally enjoy a little more direction in where to go to level. At the same time, the adventurous spirit of a world that blends dangerous content with easy content is unique and exciting. Love this game

This game really captures that classic RPG feeling. I always plan to finish one objective, but then I end up exploring another area, finding better gear, or taking on another quest
