Anthropomachy

So the game is dull, slow paced, and infused with modern politics. I had thought about getting this for my daughter because she loves Greek Mythology, but after playing it for a little time, this isn't something I'm comfortable sharing. On its surface, it's a resource management game, but really you spend most of your time waiting for events to happen, and the result of your decisions will end up being completely random. As of writing I have 42 minutes in the game... maybe it got better at some point, but I will probably never find out.

While the game has alot of potential, if you're expecting something like plague inc, or pandemic but with gods this isn't it. This is a long haul game where you have to very carefully play exactly how the developers envisioned and if you don't you'll find yourself sitting at the screen for hours on end waiting for random events to show up that use RNG to determine success,. Even if you have 100% traits/rates, you can still fail. While the game is a very interesting concept, it lacks surfacing basic UI elements that most games would use to communicate instant feedback to the player, and instead of a "steady resource management" game as the videos try to make you believe it is, its a "pool of resources" strategy game. If you make any mistakes, (by which I mean if RNG hates you, or you don't select the options the developers preordained as the 'good option') you get stuck and likely have to start over. Sure you could wait for random events, but you cannot even tab out of the game to wait for events to spawn, you have to sit there in real time and die of boredom for quite a while, and even then it's not likely you'll get anything meaningful out of the events. Abandonware.

While the game's concept itself is good, it's poorly executed. I have 2 hours on this game and already have half of the achievements. The game is fun for your first playthrough, then once you get the hang of the game, it's repetitive and no longer enjoyable. I do believe that if the devs decide to add more concepts to the game, it can become an enjoyable and much better game, although overall, I do not recommend this game.

So played a few rounds, and the only reason I am not recommending this game is it talks about playing any of the major 12 gods, aphrodite isnt on there but hades is. Aphrodite was one of the major gods hades was not, and yes this is personal for me

A nice idea. Maybe Germanic or Norse gods would also be good.
