Avocado is an intentionally minimalist clicker built around an idea so straightforward that virtually anyone can understand it within seconds: click an avocado, accumulate progress, and gradually expand a collection of avocado-themed skins. Developed by MultiVac and Señor Chihuahua and published by MultiVac, it embraces the absurdity of its concept instead of pretending to be a mechanically sophisticated incremental game. Its greatest strength is consequently also its most obvious limitation. It is accessible, relaxing, and easy to play, but anyone searching for substantial strategy, narrative development, exploration, or constantly changing gameplay will quickly discover that repetition forms the foundation of the entire experience. Clicking provides the basic progression loop, but random collectible avocado skins give those clicks a longer-term purpose. Avocado is about as simple as a clicker game can get. I click an avocado, collect more avocados and slowly build up a collection of different avocado skins. That sounds like there should not be much to talk about, and honestly there is not, but I think the game knows exactly what it is trying to be. It is a silly little free game that I can open when I want something completely mindless to mess around with. The collecting gives the basic clicking some extra purpose. Each click can give me a random avocado, and I can keep building up my collection as I continue. There is also a prestige system where clicking can improve my chances of getting drops, while combining skins lets me unlock new ones. I like the idea because it gives me a few small goals instead of making the entire game nothing more than watching one number increase. There are also 65 Steam achievements, and a lot of them are based around reaching different clicking milestones. That gives me plenty of little targets to work towards, although I would not call them deep objectives.
