Backrooms Untold

Found this little gem through CaseOh!! Neat little Backrooms experience! you can really tell the developer has lots of love of the genre! Very cool!

The background music is excellent in this one, it provides some much needed ambience in the backrooms. Solid variety of settings as well for your video options, it is impressive visually on maxed out settings. This liminal experience doesn't overstay its welcome because it's short and not large enough to truly get lost in. Each level is a distinct environment and fairly digestible. Autosaves occur at the start of each level as well. Thankfully they put the door keys in more obvious places. However, what I thought was a much cooler way of unlocking new paths was using the iconic Polaroid camera. That was a great addition since you have to shake the printed picture to develop it in real time while being uncertain if what you took a shot of was even real. I think if this idea is expanded on you'll have a winner of a liminal space game. Also, stuff like the VHS machine playing into the lore would have been neat. I like being able to interact with the strange environments since that makes it more immersive. I enjoyed finding the hidden secrets in the corridors as well, some were genuinely unsettling, again with heavy lifting courtesy of the great sound design. Those are my thoughts an…

It's not a hard game by any means but, It is a nice dip into the genre without being to in your face. It's more unique in it's own way then most the backroom games are these days as it doesn't look to relying heavily on entities. Solid recommend!

i had to keep restarting because the game was not saving at each point when i played each time to top it all off all the fake jump scares to lead to the most horribel ending ever go down a green tube to just have the game just end right their
