as much as I would like to love this game and actually finish it I just simply cannot. don't get me wrong, it's the best singleplayer backrooms game on the market right now and it's extremely immersive but I'd bet a 100 dollars the developer tells scary stories about a mythical demon by the name of "optimization". I understand this game is supposed to be hyperrealistic but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is it unoptimized. don't be fooled by the recommended system requirements, a gtx 1060 would turn into chernobyls reactor 4 and leave a small crater where your house once stood. I would go as far as say this game has worse optimization than tarkov. in order to play this in 60 fps, medium settings and a 1920x1080 resolution you would need an rtx 4090 at least and it would still barely scrape by. if you want ultra settings still in 60 fps and the same resolution even an rtx 5090 wouldn't be enough. If you borrowed a NASA pc I bet it would still choke on this game and actively melt during your playthrough. And as you probably have guessed this game is made on the worst mistake in the history of gaming which is unreal engine 5. Buy it only if you already spent 50 thousand dollars on your pc and live in t…
As is right now, I believe this one has the BEST atmosphere of any 'Backrooms' game right now. I'd say it's good for 3-4 playthroughs just to see everything and that time is going to be extremely unnerving and exciting. You can almost touch the wallpaper. I did experience some second long freezes with increased frequency nearing the end sections of the game and if you've got a similar rig to mine I'd definitely recommend capping the framerate at 30. Oh and check the steam tags! Just as anything 'Backrooms' related, this one is very much a hit or miss depending on what you're looking for.
peak game, fits the Kane Parsons Backrooms vibe really well. Gameplay is Found Footage style, and (spoilers) there ARE entities in this game. However the entities (such as bacteria) only exists as easter eggs and will not harm you nor chase you. The liminal spaces are really well done. Overall its a pretty good horror experience for liminal space & Kane's Backrooms enjoyers.
Best of the Backroom games. So satisfying to explore and to spend time in these awesome environments without constant fear of being chased. Still scary af. Sound design is incredible too.—it’s well worth the purchase.
Best backrooms game, hella good
