bagelball is one of the most ridiculous sports games I have played recently, and that is exactly why I enjoyed it. Instead of controlling a car and playing football, I am literally carrying a bagel around while trying to score goals. The concept sounds completely silly, but the physics and movement make it surprisingly entertaining. The movement is probably my favorite part. I can pick up the bagel, throw it at high speed, jump, double jump, wall jump and even ride the bagel through the air. I liked how much mobility the game gives me because scoring is not simply about running toward the goal. I am constantly thinking about how I can use the bagel itself to move around the arena. The physics also create a lot of unexpected moments. A good throw can completely change the direction of a play, while a badly timed jump can leave me flying somewhere I did not intend to go. I enjoyed that unpredictability because the game feels less like a polished sports simulation and more like a playground where I am learning what ridiculous things the movement system allows me to do.
