Ball 2D: Soccer Online

Ball 2D has changed my life. Never before have i experienced a game which balanced storytelling and fun so well. It's graphics are astonishing and way ahead of their time. The plot twist at the end made me cry, seriously. It's simplistic but inspiring elements is what makes it so great, and that's why I'm ball 2D fan for life. #BALLedMyEyesOut #ThanksDad

Basically football reduced to its simplest form, and that’s part of the charm. Easy to understand, surprisingly hard to master and pretty fun with the right people. Shame the servers feel so empty.

If you like Haxball, you'd think this could be for you... except it's the paid, unofficial-feeling clone of it that nobody really asked for. 2D physics-based soccer (plus hockey, tennis, darts modes) from Unusualsoft, out since 2017, $0.99. The problem isn't jank, the physics actually have some depth once you're in a match. The problem is nobody's home — server is basically dead (0 players live as I write this, all-time peak was 4,560 back in March 2023), and there's no bot/offline mode to fall back on when lobbies are empty, which per the reviews is most of the time. Steam's "Mostly Positive" score is also propped up by a wall of copypasta joke reviews ("this game changed my life" spam, ASCII art, blank reviews), so it reads better than the real signal underneath it. Total Score: 4/10 Only worth the dollar if you're bringing 2-3 friends yourself to fill a lobby — solo, you're buying a ghost town.

Haxball for steam no one asked for. Should be easy to develop this so they didnt lost too much for this weird project.
