Basil and the Isles of Spice

[h1] Simple platformer set on small islands. Run on water, double jump and glide being pushed by wind currents. Fairly short, about 20 minutes. Controls are mostly ok, sometimes a bit clunky though. Overall it's ok, skip if you don't have time because you'll not miss much. [/h1]

Short but fun little platformer, honestly was just nice running around to the tropical setting and music mechanics were simple but nice, especially running on water as a way to travel fast and gain momentum on jumps Only issue I had was wonky camera and character drifting even when not touching controller, otherwise I think its worth giving a try if you like platformers.

It's short, it's charming, makes a good proof of concept but performance is quite bad so I bumped down to the lowest video settings. The game was not designed efficiently to be run in 4:3 as some features are cut off. Would like to see a full game in this setting!

Reviewing so maybe it gets fixed - at archaic arch, when you get the crystal shard & jump down, if you spin attack the brother & fall off that small rock as it spawns like 8 shells, the game softlocks or hard locks where you can only press x & purple smoke happens but you can't stop the conversation nor continue it.

Was fun, had the camera clip into walls a bit but it never got stuck.
