6/10 game many things are fine. dialogue could improve in some areas some areas of the game feel to slow. the graphics are okay the movement feels close to sword of the sea with some variation, combat is super simple plus you regen health rather quickly in combat, the final boss is super easy most damage done was only contact dmg. for 30 dollars i wouldnt recomened but for 15 or lower or in a bundle I would say its a fine game to play to pass time.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ was this game worth it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IS THE SOUNDTRACK TOO GOOD. For real though, the game is incredible. The movement can be a bit janky at times, but is every other aspect about this game worth it. Even though the story is simple, it is still really good. Considering how small the game is, they managed to fit a pretty good amount of story and good writing into almost each and every moment. Every single section contributed to the larger story in one way or another in really nice way. I don't want to even mention anything specific because you just need to find out for yourself. I think the only real downside I have is that the story can be really repetitive. There are a few plot points that it brings up a few too many times. It is also a bit cliche, but I don't think a cliche story is a bad one. It matters more that a story can still be original and creative, even if it's cliche, and this story is still original in multiple ways. It honestly made me a little misty eyed a time or two, and I'm not ashamed to say that because the writing was just good. Outside of writing though, the game is incredibly relaxing. a short, casual 3D platformer focused on traversing a world ravaged by ecological collapse. the music rises as you jump with the rising of the waves and smack around baddies, and it's a lot of fun. wavetale is also, importantly, WAY more politically competent than a lot of similar "cozy" games that touch upon political themes. [spoiler] the core conflict of the game is resolved in a conciliatory way without excessively "both sides"-ing the issue at hand. conciliation serves the role of resolving the systemic issue at hand, NOT papering it over.[/spoiler] combine that with a compelling personal narrative for the protagonist and her family, and you have a nice, bittersweet little story to play through in one evening.

The story and the voice acting are very nice. But it's literally a pulling levers and pressing buttons simulator.
