Baten Kaitos I & II HD Remaster

This game does not have English voice acting, that was removed as the English written translation was riddled full of a bunch of new "woke" propaganda, which caused the original English voice lines to become desynced from the game. To "fix" this, the company simply did not add the original English voice lines into the game, nor did they add any new English voice lines to fix the desync. The only audio voice lines available in the game are Japanese. Furthermore, this is a remaster, not a new release. People want to replay a video game to relive memories and become lost in the fantasy world it provides. Forcing current day, modern politics into a nearly 25 year old game to fit the translators agenda is ridiculous and entirely breaks the games immersion, ruining a nostalgic experience that a remastered game is suppose to provide. Go woke, go broke. "Sail the high seas" rather than buying this one.

It's a hybrid Adventure/RPG battle card game ( usually I don't like battle card games ) , but this one is really good , started with Auto Battle so to see how it works , I must say story as time passes starts making sense and its good , - THE STORY HAS AN EXCELLENT PLOT TWIST - ITS AWESOME Not to mention that the game is very addictive. To upgrade , you must kill enemies as much as you can , you must visit the church and pray , there a couple of side quests which are a collection of items like collecting the signitures on a family tree scroll for a dying old man , and family members so to visit him , collection of astral map parts ( for the church roof ) and more. The Bosses are really a GOOD challenge This is originally a 2003 game , but with the HD remaster Visually is very valid and the background music is very good ( with also some late 90's style background on particular battles ) It's somewhat hard at first until you start collecting good cards , I suggest to fight a bit in the beginning before progressing in game , just by changing location , enemies respawn , so its good for farming , the more cards you collect from enemies the more to choose from and the rest to sell…

It is one such reminder of the good old days. And definitely contrasting current times where everything is hell bent on subtracting by constantly adding. Buy, play, move on - presto.

2/5 (Parts Worth Playing Once) I *like* the games. Years ago, I played Origins and have some nostalgia for it. But *liking* a game isn't the same as *recommending* a game. The battle system is still unique in the RPG space, and the world is unique. But there are some badly-designed bosses (mostly ones that spawn new meatshields), and even with one-hit-KO and game speed increased through the pause menu, this is from an era where grinding was mandatory, not optional. I got the nostalgia hit I was seeking. If you have nostalgia, go ahead and you know what you're getting. If you haven't played them, I can't recommend them, though.
