The 5th Door

You start in a room with a door on each wall: Hearts, Diamonds, Spades, and Clubs. The whole premise is that in order to find the correct path to the end, you need to find the anomaly in the room that will let you know which door to go through to progress your path. Some are easy. Some are hard. Some are witty, and some are a little scary. All in all, it was an interesting concept in a field of anomaly finder games. My takeaway is just that. There is a little something for everyone in this game. Once you make it to the end and you collect all 16 puzzle pieces (you get one every time you choose the right door), the picture is complete and you click on it to go through the last door. At any time you choose incorrectly, you lose the puzzle pieces and start back at 1. My first playthrough, the game crashed about an hour in and when I went to check the footage, I realized I had my mic on mute, so I had to start a new video. I beat the game, and once that happened, 2 new game modes opened up: Observation Mode, where 16 hard maps that were cut from the main game for what I can only assume was because they were too hard, and Insanity Mode, where you have to get 36 puzzle pieces. I love anomaly games and this one really stood out! It was extremely challenging for some, but knowing there is always something in every room helps. Some are very subtle, and others-- not so much. Just watch out for the puzzles that can actually do damage! That caught me off guard! And don't stand around TOO long trying to sort things out. Time is not on your side.

Fun little anomaly game. Creepy but not scary, which was great for playing with my 9 year old this Halloween season. Definitely worth the buy.

I bought this game because I found the aesthetic to be interesting and I was not disappointed. This is a unique anomaly game experience. The concept is simple, but effective. The game centres around one room and 4 doors that you need to choose from to progress the game. It's as simple as that. Each time you go through a door, you are presented with the same room, but with something different. And the difference can be something minor to something entirely unexpected. There are three modes that increase in difficulty and I can honestly say that each mode is extremely satisfying to beat. Observation mode will require a lot of patience, as the anomalies can be fairly subtle. This stands out from a lot of other anomaly games as this focuses more on simplicity over story or style.

I might be bad at the game but I'm still having fun playing it. Good, little game that will quickly kill half an hour of time if you need to rewind and just have some fun.

If you love horror anomaly games with an added touch of creativity, then look no further. The 5th Door really delivers in all these areas. I also appreciated how the devs added "INSANE" and "OBSERVATION" mode to really test your skills.
