Nope. Don't be fooled by just the look of it. While the pixel art is definitely high quality, the game suffers from the simple palette. What is neat at first glance quickly becomes an eyesore and sure, aesthetic preferences aside, I found myself wondering if they put all that work into the art and design of the game at least add some more palettes or make it a few more colors...seriously. Being able to play vertically or horizontally had very little effect on my game experience or enjoyment to be honest. I found myself playing mostly in the vertical layout. Music, controller support, the loose story and chapters were OK, definitely passable. What really sucked was the game play itself. Now, I'm no S ranked super schmup pro but I found the difficulty level was pretty high but made almost 'higher' but annoying thing that happened through each session: - SPD powerups? Get used to your ships handling only to have you hyper accelerate and veer into a nearby meteorite becaues you grabbed one by accident. Just make the ship one speed please... - Weapons themselves are alright I guess, with some being vastly OP for a given chapter (that's the idea I guess?) but what's the point of l…

Cool shoot'em up that injects a small amount of adrenaline directly into your veins. The game discards all sophisticated mechanics in favor of the fundamentals. All you can do is move around and fire. In the options, you may enable auto-fire, which allows you to hold the fire button instead of smashing it endlessly. During the mission, you can earn bonuses by destroying a certain enemy. They aren't particularly exciting, but they do the job. Bonuses include gun upgrades, extra lives, and unique spheres that fly around your spacecraft and block or destroy whatever they touch. There are also a few new weapons to be found, although their upgrade rank does not transfer across them. If you have a fully upgraded laser and pick a new weapon, you will begin with the lowest rank.Since your ship pulls upgrades closer, you might pick a weapon you don’t want. You are frequently forced into a weaker weapon when you’re dodging enemy bullets. Sadly, even a single death can mean game over. When you die, you drop every upgrade collected so far. I'd give this game a mixed review if I could. It's a simple and very straightforward shmup (not even a bomb of sorts), which can be a good or bad things depending on who you ask or what you're looking for. The patterns and level design also leave a LOT to be desired, frankly. I got the impression not a lot of thought was put into patterns, placements, what felt fair or not, etc. It does, however, have a cool aesthetic, decent controls, and satisfying SFX. If a really simple and straightforward shmup with a neat aesthetic is exactly what you're looking for, than get this. Otherwise, though I respect what was made here, and I don't regret buying it (for 1€), or the hour I spent beating it... I can't really say I *recommend* it per se...

This game was a blast! If you enjoy the "schmup" genre you've gotta pick this one up. Normally $5 on sale right now for 79 cents, easily worth the purchase. The game is on the short side but man is it fun. There's a nice balance of power up weapons and the game doesn't bog you down with tons of abilities or details... it's just a good ol fashioned schmup full of chaos and mayhem. I do think the game leans on the easier side - there are way too many 1UPs and most of the bosses are fairly straight forward. Wish the dev added a Hard mode that you unlock after beating the game which eliminates 1UPs and makes enemies 50% tougher or something... but a good challenge that I'm gonna pursue next is trying to beat the game all in 1 extended run without losing all lives... that should be a good challenge. To someone who hasn't played many schmup games before this probably would be pretty challenging actually. Also fair warning if you don't deal well with flashing lights this game will likely bother you. The fun factor in this game is a 9 out of 10, it's just a blast to play. Overall it's probably like an 8 out of 10. If you like schmups you gotta buy this game.
