Black Rainbow Mystery: Amazon Escape

Awful game. Not a Hidden Object game at all- a Point & Click game with hidden collectibles and puzzle pieces you have to run around picking up. You have to play it twice to get the final achievement (Finish the game- any mode *except Challenge Mode* or Finish the game in Challenge Mode.) And honestly- it's not fun or interesting enough to play twice. One achievement will remain locked. The story is bad, really bad. The game freezes and locks up at times, for no apparent reason (no crash logs or error reports generated). I played on a fairly beefy rig- Windows 10 64 bit, i9 11900K, RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB RAM. The game does not stutter- it just locks up during or after some interactions, and I had to shut it down via Task Manager since the game was unresponsive and all buttons because unclickable. Graphics are pretty bad, animations are pretty bad. Voice acting sounds like they paid random people off the street with an offer of a free lunch if they read some lines, and then told them after they got them in a locked room that it was going to be 3 day old KFC with cold mashed potatoes and no gravy. I have to say I really enjoyed this adventure puzzle game. There is a collectible, journal & map that lets you hyper jump and shows where an action can be taken. It is 3 pages long. You need the map because you can also hyper jump in the game as part of the story. So unless you want to walk enormous distances as the game progresses, use the map. There is a good help/skip button. Enjoy the puzzles & mini games - they are not overly complicated. Collect a lot of inventory. I realize the characters remind you of games from back in the past but it is worth it. The rest of the artwork is pleasant. While it is not sharp & clear like a more modern game, it did not hinder game play. Travel on earth, under water & in the clouds. So go ahead & save the world - again.

I said I'd recommend this... but really only if you didn't have any other games of this type to choose from. Graphics and interface are dated now, voice acting (while present) is kind of wonky in that everyone has very Americanized voices - even natives from another dimension. The game is also filled with achievements you can miss, and you are forced to play the game twice in order to get all achievements which is a pet peeve. 5 out of 10 rainbows.
