Warning: Asset Flip! Blast Ensemble is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer" paid for/pirated someone else's example/template/tutorial game, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game.
The "developer" took a bunch of someone else's game assets (in this case, "Toy Box Blast!" game source code, a match 3 mobile app asset pack) and is trying to get YOUR money for someone else's work. This small change gives the gameplay a different rhythm, encouraging players to focus on pattern recognition and efficient clearing rather than planning multi-step swaps. The core loop is easy to understand and quickly becomes intuitive. Each level presents a grid filled with colorful shapes, along with specific objectives that must be completed within a limited number of moves. The simplicity of this setup makes the game highly accessible, allowing players to jump in without needing extensive explanation. As you progress, the introduction of special tools and power-ups adds moments of excitement, particularly when they are used to clear large sections of the board or trigger satisfying chain reactions.
